2027 Competitive Exams for Certified Teachers of Agricultural Education Open

The Ministry of Agriculture, Agri-Food and Food Sovereignty authorizes the opening, for the year 2027, of the external and internal recruitment competitions for certified teachers of agricultural education. In total, 55 positions are offered, divided between external competitions (36 positions) and internal competitions (19 positions). This decision is published by the decree of September 14, 2026, referenced NOR AGRS2622442A, appearing in the Official Journal of the French Republic No. 0216 of September 16, 2026.

A system of three certificates

The competitions cover three distinct certificates of agricultural education. For the external competitions, the CAPESA (certificate of aptitude for secondary agricultural teaching) offers 20 positions, the CAPETA (certificate of aptitude for agricultural technical education teaching) offers 6, and the CAPEPSA (certificate of aptitude for physical and sports education teaching in agricultural education) offers 10.

The distribution of external positions by section is as follows:

  • CAPESA: History-Geography (6 positions), Documentation (10 positions), economic and social sciences and management, option B economic sciences and commercial techniques (4 positions);
  • CAPETA: IT and multimedia technology (6 positions);
  • CAPEPSA: 10 positions.

The internal competitions, reserved for staff already in post, are distributed as follows:

  • CAPESA: Modern Literature (5 positions), History-Geography (4 positions);
  • CAPEPSA: 10 positions.

Registration and Examination Calendar

Registration is carried out online on the ministry’s recruitment website. Candidates for external competitions register from September 28 to November 19, 2026, at noon (Paris time), while internal competitions are open from November 10 to December 15, 2026, at noon. In the event that online registration is impossible, a paper application may be requested by registered mail to the office of competitions and professional examinations, 78, rue de Varenne, 75349 Paris 07 SP.

The examination calendar differs according to the competition:

  • External CAPESA and CAPETA: written exams on January 12 and 13, 2027, eligibility published on March 5, 2027, orals starting March 30, 2027;
  • External CAPEPSA: written exams on March 2 and 3, 2027, eligibility on April 26, 2027, admission starting June 8, 2027;
  • Internal Competitions: evaluation of the professional experience recognition (RAEP) files starting January 18, 2027, eligibility on February 12, 2027, oral starting March 8, 2027.

Special Conditions and Accommodations

Candidates for the CAPEPSA must provide proof of their qualification in aquatic rescue and first aid, and produce a medical certificate stating there are no contraindications to the practice of physical activities. Candidates with disabilities may request an adjustment of the tests upon presentation of a medical certificate issued by an approved physician, uploaded no later than December 22, 2026. The use of videoconferencing for oral exams is open to candidates residing in overseas territories or abroad, those with disabilities, those who are pregnant, or those whose state of health requires it, upon request submitted no later than February 3, 2027.

With 55 positions open, this 2027 campaign confirms the recruitment momentum in public agricultural education, which trains future professionals in the agricultural, agri-food, and land-use planning sectors. Interested candidates are invited to consult the requirements and the nature of the tests on the ministry’s recruitment website, as the composition of the juries is determined by decrees from the Minister of Agriculture.
