Initial approval of an extraordinary credit

The municipality of Corcubión published today in the Official Bulletin of the Province of A Coruña the notice of the initial approval of a credit modification file following the extraordinary credit modality. The decision was adopted by the Municipal Plenary in an extraordinary session held on 7 August 2026, and now a period of public information is opened so that residents and any interested party may examine the file and submit the claims they deem appropriate.

The file number is 2026/T002/000035, corresponding to credit modification no. 35/2026. The publication in the provincial bulletin (no. 155, of 17 August 2026) appears under notice number 2026/5362, in the Local Administration section, page 1.

Regulatory framework

The initial approval of the extraordinary credit is based on Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of 5 March, which approves the Consolidated Text of the Local Government Finance Regulatory Law. Specifically, the public exhibition is ordered under article 169.1, by reference from article 177.2 of this state regulation, which requires that any budgetary modification involving a change to the budget credit be subject to a public information procedure before its final approval.

Although the official bulletin does not detail the specific amount of the credit or the specific items that motivate it, the extraordinary nature of the modification indicates that the Corcubión City Council needs additional funding to meet obligations that exceed the allocations provided for in the municipal budgets currently in force.

Claims period

The notice establishes a period of fifteen calendar days for the submission of claims and allegations, which begins the day following the insertion of the notice in the bulletin, that is, 18 August 2026. Interested parties may examine the complete file and submit in writing the observations they deem appropriate at the municipal registry.

Once the period has elapsed without any claims or allegations being registered, the file shall be deemed finally approved automatically, without the need for a new plenary agreement. This mechanism simplifies the administrative procedure but makes it essential that residents who wish to challenge the credit act within the established period.

Signature and responsibility

The notice is signed in Corcubión on 7 August 2026 by the mayor, Francisco Javier Domínguez Traba, who assumes responsibility for the proposal and its submission to the official bulletin for compliance with the public exhibition procedure. Publication in the BOP of A Coruña is the formal act that initiates the countdown of the legal period.
