Colmenarejo announces two Local Police vacancies via open competitive examination

The Colmenarejo City Council has approved the call and the rules for filling two career civil servant positions for Police Officers of the Local Police Force, via open competition and through a merit-and-examination system. The decision was adopted by Mayoral Resolution 784/2026 and published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid number 196, dated August 18, 2026, in section III of Local Administration.

The announced positions correspond to Group C, Subgroup C1, as established in article 76 of the Recast Text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee (Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30), and are classified under the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Local Police Class, Police category.

2024 Public Employment Offer

The two positions are included in the Public Employment Offer for the 2024 fiscal year, approved by Mayoral Resolution 734/2026, of August 2, 2026, and published in the BOCM number 184, of August 4, 2026. The holders of these positions will be responsible for the functions provided for in article 53 of Organic Law 2/1986, on Security Forces and Corps, and in article 11 of Law 1/2018, of February 22, on the Coordination of Local Police of the Community of Madrid.

Requirements and Submission of Applications

To participate in the selection tests, it will be necessary to meet a series of conditions, which must be maintained until the assumption of office:

  • Hold Spanish nationality.
  • Be eighteen years of age before the application submission deadline expires.
  • Hold a Bachiller (High School Diploma) or Technician qualification or equivalent.
  • Not have been dismissed from service in any Public Administration nor be disqualified.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Hold a class B driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Commitment to carry and use weapons in the cases provided by law.

Applications shall be submitted at the General Electronic Registry of the City Council or at the locations provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, within a period of twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette. The examination fees amount to 25 euros, payable by transfer to the Banco de Santander account ES64-0049-6807-2227-1000-2407.

Phases of the Selection Process

The procedure consists of several successive and eliminatory phases:

  • Competitive examinations: psychotechnical test, cultural or knowledge test (100-question multiple-choice questionnaire, including an A2 level English section), physical tests, and medical examination.
  • Merit competition: evaluation of services rendered as an Auxiliary Agent or Mobility Agent, academic qualifications, languages, and police-related courses, up to a maximum of 2 points.
  • Selective training course: taught at the Comprehensive Training Institute for Security and Emergencies, with a teaching load of no less than 625 hours.
  • Internship period: 6 months in duration and eliminatory in nature.

The evaluating board will consist of an odd number of members, no fewer than five, including a president, a secretary, and three members, one of whom shall be proposed by the Community of Madrid.
