Collado Villalba announces five Local Police vacancies via competitive examination

The Collado Villalba City Council (Madrid) has approved the specific guidelines that will govern the call for access to five Police officer positions within the Local Police Force, through a free competitive examination system (concurso-oposición). The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) number 214, dated Tuesday, September 8, 2026, within section III of Local Administration, with the official reference BOCM-20260908-28.

The announced positions correspond to Group C, Subgroup C1, categorized under the Special Administration Scale, Special Services sub-scale, Local Police class. The process complies with Law 1/2018, of February 22, on the coordination of Local Police of the Community of Madrid, Decree 210/2021, of September 15, which approves the Framework Regulation for the Organization of Local Police, and Order 1148/1997, from the Ministry of the Presidency, among other regulations.

Requirements and submission of applications

To be admitted, applicants must meet the following general requirements:

• Hold Spanish nationality and be at least 18 years old.
• Possess a Bachiller, Technician degree, or equivalent.
• Hold a class B driver’s license or equivalent.
• Have no criminal record and not have been dismissed from service from any public administration.
• Not have been convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity.
• Commitment to carry weapons and use them in cases provided for by law.

Applications shall be submitted to the General Registry of the City Council within a period of twenty business days, counting from the day following the publication of the call in the Official State Gazette (BOE). Phases of the selection process

The selection procedure consists of several successive and eliminatory phases:

• Competitive exams: psychotechnical, cultural or knowledge-based, physical, and medical examination.
• Merit phase (concurso): evaluation of merits for those who pass the competitive exams.
• Selective training course, with a teaching load of no less than 625 hours, taught at the Comprehensive Training Institute in Security and Emergencies of the Community of Madrid.
• Internship period of six months, which is eliminatory in nature.

The cultural test will consist of a questionnaire of 100 multiple-choice questions (90 on the syllabus and 10 on A2 level English), with a duration of one and a half hours. The physical tests include an 800-meter endurance run, a 60-meter sprint, long jump, medicine ball throw, and 25-meter swimming.

Tribunal and grading

The qualifying tribunal shall consist of an odd number of members, not fewer than five, including a president, a secretary, and four members, preferably members of the Local Police Force, one of whom shall be proposed by the Community of Madrid. The tests will be graded from 0 to 10 points, except for the psychotechnical tests and the medical examination, which will be assessed as fit or unfit, and the physical tests, from 5 to 10 points.

In the competition phase, services rendered as an auxiliary or mobility agent, academic qualifications, language certificates, and police-related courses will be scored, with a maximum grade of 2 points. In the event of a tie, preference will be given to the highest score in the knowledge test and, failing that, to the person of the underrepresented sex in the category.
