Coín aprueba inicialmente la ordenanza de higiene urbana y gestión de residuos

The Coín City Council has initially approved the new Municipal Ordinance on Urban Hygiene, Public Cleaning, and Waste Management, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Málaga on October 8, 2026. The agreement is published via Edict 3824/2026, within the first section of the gazette, reserved for city council announcements. With this initial approval, the official process begins for the regulation that will govern street cleaning and waste treatment in the municipality.

The announcement appears in the same issue of the provincial gazette that gathers about twenty municipal communications, including tax censuses, calls for job banks, budget modifications, and detailed studies. The one from Coín is the only reference in the issue dedicated to a municipal waste ordinance, positioning it as the regulatory announcement with the greatest scope in the city councils section for that day.

Initial approval constitutes the phase prior to the final approval of a local ordinance: the text is fixed by the council and is subjected to the publication and exhibition process that local government legislation establishes for municipal ordinances and regulations. Only after this process does the regulation acquire full validity and deploy its effects on the citizens and economic activities of the municipal district.

A regulation on cleaning, hygiene, and waste

The title of the edict precisely delimits the scope of the future ordinance, which covers three interconnected matters:

  • Urban hygiene: the conditions of health and care of the municipality’s public space.
  • Public cleaning: the cleaning service for streets and spaces under municipal ownership.
  • Waste management: the collection and treatment of waste generated in Coín.

It is, therefore, a regulation of daily scope, called to govern the day-to-day lives of residents, businesses, and economic activities of the municipality regarding everything related to dirt on public roads and the production and delivery of waste.

The process opened after publication

The publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Málaga provides official publicity to the initial approval agreement and activates the information and allegations phase typical of the processing of municipal ordinances. This is the moment when the text is made available to interested parties before its final approval.

Edict 3824/2026 is the official reference with which the Coín City Council identifies this regulatory file, and it is the identifier that must be cited in any inquiry, allegation, or procedure related to the new ordinance.

A gazette with twenty municipal announcements

The October 8, 2026 issue of the first section of the provincial bulletin includes communications from municipalities such as Alameda, Algarrobo, Algatocín, Almogía, Álora, Alozaina, Benadalid, Cártama, Estepona, Fuengirola, Málaga, Marbella, Teba, Tolox, and Vélez-Málaga, as well as Coín. Most of these are tax, personnel, or urban planning procedures.

Compared to that set, the ordinance from Coín stands out for its general regulatory nature: it does not resolve a specific case, but rather establishes ongoing rules for the entire municipality regarding cleaning and waste.

What this means for the residents and businesses of Coín

The new ordinance will directly affect the daily life of the municipality: the way trash is presented and deposited, the obligations for cleaning facades and premises, the condition of plots and private spaces, and the consequences of failing to comply with these rules. Businesses, hospitality, and economic activities are the sectors most exposed to the changes, as they generate waste continuously.

The relevance of the news lies in the fact that Coín will have an updated municipal framework for one of the most visible competencies of a city council. The publication of Edict 3824/2026 in the Official Gazette of the Province of Málaga marks the formal starting point of this process, which interested parties can follow through the official case reference.
