Por FactBox Admin

The Department of Education of the Principality of Asturias has resolved the procedure for the provision of professor positions assigned to the “Eduardo Martínez Torner” Superior Conservatory of Music in Oviedo, under a service commission regime. The resolution, signed on August 25, 2026, by the counselor Eva Ledo Cabaleiro, is published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) number 174, dated September 9, 2026, with the code 2026-07358.
The procedure was processed via an urgent track, following the call approved by the Resolution of July 20, 2026 (published in the BOPA of July 30, 2026). The Evaluation Commission was appointed on July 27, and after the provisional and final lists of admitted and selected candidates, it submitted the appointment proposal to the competent body.
Approved Appointments
The resolution approves the appointment of five people for the professor positions, with economic and administrative effects from September 1, 2026, until August 31, 2027:
- Josefa Álvarez Salcedo — Piano repertoire for instruments
- Elena María García Álvarez — Improvisation and accompaniment
- Tamara Rodríguez López — Pedagogy
- Gemma María Salas Villar — Music history
- José Ramón Vidal Pereira — Percussion
Vacant Positions
Annex II of the resolution declares several positions in the called specialties as vacant:
- Composition (1 position)
- Music technology (1 position)
- Piano repertoire for instruments (3 positions)
- Trombone (1 position)
Regulatory Framework
The competence is supported by Article 18.1 of the Statute of Autonomy of Asturias, which grants the Principality legislative development and execution of education, and by Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3, on Education, as amended by Organic Law 3/2020. The service commission is configured as an extraordinary form of position performance, in accordance with Article 66 of the Law of the Principality of Asturias 2/2023, of March 15, on Public Employment, and Article 7 of Decree 22/1993.
Against the resolution, which ends the administrative route, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed within two months, or optionally a request for reversal within one month. The resolution is also published on the educational portal www.educastur.es.
The filling of these professor positions reinforces the teaching staff of the Asturian superior conservatory, although the declaration of vacant positions in specialties such as composition or trombone highlights the difficulty of filling certain specialized profiles in higher music education.
