Water cycle: the Provincial Council grants aid for digitalization and pumps

Ciclo del agua: la Diputación concede ayudas para digitalización y bombas

The Provincial Council of Valencia has resolved the granting of subsidies intended for the improvement of the integrated water cycle in 2025, organized into two lines: digitalization and sludge pumps. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Valencia in issue number 209, dated October 30, 2026, within the Environment area of the provincial institution and under the official reference 2026/13223.

The announcement appears in the summary of the gazette, within the block reserved for the Provincial Council of Valencia, in an issue corresponding to year CXCIV and with the secure verification code BOPV-20261030-209. The grants refer to actions from the 2025 fiscal year, meaning their granting is formalized in the late October 2026 gazette, after the fiscal year to which the subsidies correspond has closed.

The Council is the administration that channels these contributions to the municipalities of the province, which are the ultimate owners of the supply and sanitation networks. The published extract identifies the aid line, the subsidized fiscal year, and the responsible area, although the summary of the gazette does not include amounts or the list of beneficiary entities.

Digitalization and sludge pumps: the two purposes

The title of the announcement precisely defines the object of the call: the improvement of the integrated water cycle through two different types of action. The first is oriented toward the digitalization of management; the second, toward the replacement or improvement of sludge pumps, electromechanical equipment used in purification plants for the transfer of concentrated waste.

  • Digitalization: technological modernization applied to the management of the integrated water cycle.
  • Sludge pumps: pumping equipment for treatment and purification plants.
  • Subsidized fiscal year: 2025.
  • Official reference: 2026/13223, published in issue number 209 of the gazette, dated October 30, 2026.

Awards, public employment, and roads in the same issue

The granting of these aids shares pages with other resolutions from the Provincial Council of Valencia in the same issue 209:

  • 2026/13198: granting of the Children’s and Youth Theater Award, Teatro Escalante 2026, from the Delegation of Youth and Theaters.
  • 2026/13435: open competitive examination call for one position of intermediate archive and library technician, call 10/25, included in the 2025 public employment offer.
  • 2026/13221: public information regarding the conditioning and improvement project of Els Quatre Camins de la Vall d’Albaida, file 860/25/CAR.
  • 2026/13253: complementary addendum to the cycle-pedestrian path connection project between the urban center of Domeño and the CV-35, file 65/24/CAR.

In the central administration section, the same bulletin includes an announcement from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through the Coastal Demarcation of Valencia, regarding an authorization request processed by the Puçol City Council (2026/13094).

The water cycle, also on the municipal agenda

The provincial line coincides with municipal activity sustained around the water service in recent weeks, also reflected in the Official Gazette of the Province of Valencia:

  • The Valencia City Council approved, via the Local Government Board, the modification of the Service Charter for the Integrated Water Cycle Service (2026/12768, bulletin of October 22, 2026).
  • The Paterna City Council submitted for public review the modification of the fiscal ordinance for the environmental management fee of the integrated water cycle (2026/12500, bulletin of October 16, 2026).
  • The El Marquesat Association of Municipalities processed the ordinance for the patrimonial provision for the domestic drinking water supply service (2026/12774, bulletin of October 22, 2026).

The relevance of the call lies in its purpose: digitalization allows for the control of consumption, pressure, and network losses, and sludge pumps condition the performance of treatment plants. For smaller municipalities with reduced technical staff, these types of provincial grants are the usual way to renew equipment and sensors without financing them entirely with their own resources, which translates directly into the quality of the service received by the residents.
