Chipiona approves 25,000 euros in nominative grants for Alzheimer's and Afanas

The Plenary of the Chipiona City Council approved in an ordinary session on September 24, 2026, two nominative grants of 15,000.00 and 10,000.00 euros in favor of the Association of Relatives of people with Alzheimer’s disease or other Dementias - Faro de Chipiona and Afanas Sanlúcar, Chipiona, Trebujena y Rota. The agreement modifies the municipality’s Strategic Grant Plan 2026-2029 and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz no. 199, dated October 15, 2026, under announcement No. 328.162. The measure introduces two nominative aids destined for local social entities into the municipal plan.

The Plenary agreement and its processing

Resolutive proposal 3.6 originated from the Delegate Councilor for Economic Promotion and Local Development and received a favorable report from the Information Commission on September 21, 2026. The Plenary approved it with 15 votes in favor (6 UxCh, 3 PSOE, 3 IU, 2 PP and 1 VOX) and two abstentions due to absence (1 PSOE and 1 VOX). Ms. María Dolores Naval Zarazaga and Mr. Agustín Jiménez Inverno were absent from the vote.

The certificate is issued by the General Secretary of the Chipiona City Council, Sandra María Antón García, with the approval of the mayor-president, Luis Mario Aparcero Fernández de Retana, on September 25, 2026. The file begins with the order from the Delegate for Elderly Policies, received on September 16, 2026, which requested the registration of the nominative aids for both entities in the Strategic Grant Plan.

The two beneficiaries and the amounts

The registration is approved within the grants for relatives and non-profit institutions, as they were the beneficiary associations following the 2026 participatory budgeting process:

• Association of Relatives of people with Alzheimer’s disease or other Dementias - Faro de Chipiona, CIF G11580065, application Prog. 231 Economic 78000, for the amount of €15,000.00.
• Afanas Sanlúcar, Chipiona, Trebujena y Rota, CIF G11020146, application Prog. 231 Economic 78001, for the amount of €10,000.00.

The Strategic Grant Plan 2026-2029 was approved by the Plenary on February 26, 2026, and published on April 20, 2026, in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz no. 73. Article 2 conditions these aids on the allocation of credits in the municipal budgets of each fiscal year and allows annual amounts to be altered based on current accounts. The plan itself warns that the entities eligible to receive grants do not constitute an exhaustive list and may undergo modifications to promote activities of public utility or social interest.

Publication, transparency and authorization of the mayor

The agreement orders the publication of the Plan modification in the Official Gazette of the Province for general knowledge and in the Transparency Portal of the City Council’s electronic office. Furthermore, it authorizes the mayor to sign any documents necessary for the execution of the agreement.

The certificate warns that the minutes of the session have not yet been approved and remain subject to the terms resulting from its approval, in accordance with article 206 of the R.O.F.R.J.C.L.

Closing

The two grants total 25,000 euros of direct public money to social entities in the Chipiona area, a funding route for care programs for people with Alzheimer’s and people with intellectual disabilities and their families. The publication in the official gazette opens public knowledge of grants that are charged to the 2026 participatory budgets and are integrated into the municipal strategic plan until 2029.
