Chiclana definitively approves the third credit modification of 2026

The City Council of Chiclana de la Frontera has given final approval to the third credit modification of the 2026 General Budget, corresponding to file 20260000044 processed by the municipal comptroller’s office, since no objections were submitted during the public inspection period. The resolution of the Plenary, adopted at the session of June 30, is now published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Cádiz number 155, of August 13, 2026, with the summary by chapters of the budget. An administrative court appeal may be lodged against the decision within a period of two months.

The notice is issued pursuant to Article 169.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, approving the consolidated text of the Law Regulating Local Finance. The initial approval of the file was announced in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Cádiz number 129, of July 8, 2026, and no objections were filed during the following fifteen days; therefore, the resolution is deemed final and the summary by chapters is inserted for general information.

The summary by chapters

The modification introduces increases and decreases in appropriations in various chapters of the expenditure budget, resulting in the following final appropriations:

• Chapter II: increases of €698,435.94 and final appropriation of €27,327,448.23.
• Chapter III: increases of €501,928.03 and final appropriation of €1,205,855.52.
• Chapter IV: increases of €16,573.00 and final appropriation of €39,669,440.37.
• Chapter VI (investments): increases of €2,127,290.59 and decreases of €1,000,000.00, with a final appropriation of €49,879,120.89.

In the revenue budget, Chapter VIII records increases of €2,344,227.56, bringing its final appropriation to €29,613,062.77.

The appeal against the resolution

Pursuant to Article 171.1 of the Consolidated Text of the Law Regulating Local Finance, an administrative court appeal may be filed against the aforementioned resolution before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia, within a period of two months from the day following the publication of the notice in the provincial bulletin.

The notice, dated in Chiclana de la Frontera on August 6, 2026, is signed by the Deputy Mayor for Finance, Isabel María Butrón García, and by the Deputy Secretary-General, Oscar Grau Lobato, and bears reference number 265,966.

Relevance for the municipality

With this modification, Chiclana consolidates a 2026 budget with greater investment capacity: Chapter VI reaches 49.88 million euros, a key figure for the execution of municipal projects in the remainder of the fiscal year. The publication in the official bulletin also confirms the legal certainty of the process, closed without citizen controversy, and opens the ordinary judicial route to interested parties to challenge it if they deem it appropriate.
