Ceuta awards the Medal of Autonomy to palliative care

The Plenary Session of the Assembly of the City of Ceuta has agreed to award the 2026 Autonomy Medal, the city’s highest distinction, to the Ceuta Palliative Care Team and, posthumously, to Adil Mohamed Hachmi and Mustafa Mizzian Amar. The agreement was adopted during the ordinary resolution session held on June 29, 2026, and was made public in the Official Gazette of the City of Ceuta (BOCCE) on August 28, 2026.

The decision appears in the summary of agreements from the Plenary, published in compliance with articles 39.3 and 44.4 of the Regulations of the Assembly of the Autonomous City of Ceuta, which require the dissemination of agreements adopted by the plenary body on the Notice Board and in the official gazette. The document appears in issue number 6,647 of the BOCCE, within the General Provisions section, and is signed by the acting secretary general, Juan Manuel Verdejo Rodríguez, and by the president of the City, Juan Jesús Vivas Lara.

A recognition of healthcare work

The awarding of the Autonomy Medal distinguishes the trajectory and service of the Ceuta Palliative Care Team, a healthcare collective that accompanies patients in the final stage of life and their families. The award, which is presented annually, thus recognizes work of great human and social value for the citizens of Ceuta.

Alongside this collective recognition, the Plenary wished to honor the memory of two individuals posthumously:

• Adil Mohamed Hachmi, distinguished posthumously.
• Mustafa Mizzian Amar, distinguished posthumously.

• Approving the video minutes of the ordinary resolution plenary session of April 29, 2026.
