Cervo subvenciona libros de infantil con ata 130 euros por alumno

The Cervo City Council has opened the call for grants for the acquisition of books and school materials for early childhood education students (second cycle) for the 2026-2027 academic year, with a maximum credit of 2,000 euros and amounts of up to 130 euros per student. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo (BOP) no. 242, Thursday, October 22, 2026, on page 19, under reference R. 2887 and identifier BDNS 935755. Interested families have 15 days to submit the application.

The announcement is the extract of the call published in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies Law, and the full text of the bases is available in the National Subsidies Database (BDNS). The resolution was signed in Cervo on October 16, 2026, by the mayor, María Dolores García Caramés, and includes the approval of the application form appearing as annex I of the file.

The bases specify that these are grants of a strictly social nature, intended for families in the municipality with school-age children to alleviate the costs of the start of the school year for basic materials. The text emphasizes that they do not constitute an educational benefit, which is a competence attributed to the Autonomous Community.

Requirements that families must meet

The grants may be requested by the fathers, mothers, or legal guardians of students who meet these requirements:

  • That all members of the family unit are registered and have effective residence in the Cervo City Council.
  • To have daughters or sons attending early childhood education (second cycle), from 3 to 5 years old, at CEIP Cervo or CEIP Península da Paz during the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Not to exceed the economic income fixed in the scale of the bases.
  • Not to be a debtor to the Municipal, Autonomous, and State Treasuries or Social Security.
  • Not to have any subsidy granted by the Cervo City Council pending justification.
  • Not to be subject to the prohibitions for obtaining beneficiary status set out in article 10 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia, and in article 13 of Law 38/2003.

Amounts according to family income

The amount of the grant is fixed in a two-tier scale, provided that the expenditure incurred is justified and without exceeding in any case the budget presented with the application:

  • Annual family per capita income equal to or lower than the IPREM (up to 7,200 euros): 130 euros per student.
  • Family per capita income higher than 100% and lower than 150% of the IPREM (from 7,200 to 10,800 euros): 100 euros per student.

The grants will be charged to the budgetary application 232/48916 “Social promotion. Development of study material”, with a maximum approved credit of 2,000 euros.

Deadline, place of submission, and electronic office

Applications, together with the required documentation, shall be submitted to the General Registry of the Cervo City Council, at Praza do Concello, s/n, or through any of the forms provided for in current legislation. The deadline is 15 days from the publication of the summary of the call in the Official Provincial Gazette.

The regulatory bases are published on the notice board of the municipal electronic headquarters and are available to interested parties at the General Registry of the council.

The same edition of the BOP includes a second line of grants from the Cervo City Council, in this case for the transport of students who pursued studies outside the municipal boundary in the 2025-2026 academic year, with a credit of 12,000 euros and amounts of 250 or 150 euros depending on income (R. 2888, BDNS 935762).

The call arrives with the school year already started and a tight budget of 2,000 euros, which limits the number of grants awarded: the maximum amount per student is equivalent to almost one third of the total available credit. For families with children at CEIP Cervo and CEIP Península da Paz, the 15-day deadline from this publication is the only window to claim a grant that, in the lowest income bracket, reaches 130 euros per student.
