Cerezo de Río Tirón opens public information period for the WWTP agreement with SOMACYL

The City Council of Cerezo de Río Tirón has opened a twenty-day public information period regarding the collaboration agreement signed with the public company Infraestructuras y Medio Ambiente de Castilla y León, S.A. (SOMACYL) for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the municipality’s wastewater treatment plant (EDAR). The announcement appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos, number 174, dated September 14, 2026, with reference BOPBUR-2026-03871.

The file is being processed under Article 83 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, which regulates the public information process prior to the approval of the agreement. During this period, the file may be consulted, and allegations, suggestions, or claims may be submitted.

Purpose of the Agreement

The purpose of the agreement is the construction, maintenance, and operation of the Cerezo de Río Tirón EDAR, a key infrastructure for sanitation and environmental protection in the Burgos municipality. The collaboration is structured between the city council and SOMACYL, a public company dependent on the Regional Government of Castilla y León specializing in infrastructure and the environment.

Interested parties may appear and formulate as many allegations, suggestions, or claims as they deem appropriate. The announcement will also serve as notification to interested parties in the event that personal notification of the hearing process cannot be carried out.

The announcement, dated September 8, 2026, is signed by the mayor, Raúl Sobrino Garrido.
