Central Bank authorises two new UCITS funds for investors

The Central Bank of Ireland has authorised two new undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities, expanding the range of regulated funds available to investors. The authorisations, granted on 26 August 2026, cover BlueDot UCITS ICAV and Silvercrest Asset Management UCITS ICAV, and were published in Iris Oifigiúil No. 73 of Friday, 11 September 2026.

The notices appear under the heading “Authorisation of Collective Investment Schemes” in Section I of the gazette, and are issued under the powers conferred on the Central Bank by the European Communities (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities) Regulations 2011, the Unit Trusts Act 1990, and the Investment Funds, Companies and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2005.

The two newly authorised funds

Each fund is structured as an Irish Collective Asset-management Vehicle (ICAV) and has been assigned a management company and a depositary to hold and safeguard its assets.

  • BlueDot UCITS ICAV — management company Fundrock Management Company (Ireland) Limited; depositary European Depositary Bank S.A. (reference G-8A).
  • Silvercrest Asset Management UCITS ICAV — management company Carne Global Fund Managers (Ireland) Limited; depositary SEI Investments – Depositary and Custodial Services (Ireland) Limited (reference G-8B).

Both entries record the date of authorisation as 26 August 2026, with no alternative investment fund manager listed (marked “N/A”) for either scheme.

Regulatory framework

The authorisations are made under the European Communities (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities) Regulations 2011, which transpose the EU UCITS framework into Irish law, together with the Unit Trusts Act 1990 and the Investment Funds, Companies and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2005. Under this framework, each UCITS must appoint a management company responsible for investment management and a depositary charged with custody and oversight of the fund’s assets.

The gazette also carries an Irish-language version of the same notices under the heading “Scéimeanna Comhinfheistíochta a Údarú”, confirming the authorisations in both official languages of the State.

What this means for investors

The addition of BlueDot UCITS ICAV and Silvercrest Asset Management UCITS ICAV broadens the choice of regulated collective investment schemes available to Irish and European investors. UCITS funds benefit from a harmonised regulatory regime across the European Union, allowing them to be marketed to retail investors while subject to strict rules on diversification, liquidity and disclosure.

The publication in Iris Oifigiúil provides formal notice of the Central Bank’s decision, giving investors and market participants a public record of the newly authorised schemes and the service providers responsible for their management and custody.
