Cee approves nominative grants for 155,959 euros, with 43,759 for Viraxes

The Plenary of the Cee City Council, in the ordinary session of September 25, 2026, initially approved the modification of the Annex of Nominative Subsidies of the Budget for the 2026 financial year, a set of direct grants totaling 155,959.10 euros. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 188, dated October 1, 2026, under reference 2026/6316 and file 2026/T004/000016.

Framework of the agreement and global figures

The modification affects the annex of nominative subsidies, that is, grants awarded directly and nominatively without public competition, recorded in budget items 230/489.00, 330/489.01, 340/472.00, and 340/489.00 of the municipal budget. The total amount of the distribution amounts to 155,959.10 euros.

The document details for each grant the budget item, the beneficiary entity, the amount, the purpose, and the nature of the payment. Most of the grants are post-payable, except for that of the Asociación Comisión de festas da Xunqueira de Cee, which is pre-payable.

Viraxes SL, main beneficiary

The largest individual grant goes to a company, with an amount that almost doubles that of the next entity in volume:

Social, sporting, and cultural entities

The rest of the distribution is divided among local entities and competition lines:

• Solidaridade Galega co Pobo Saharaui: 1,000 euros (item 230/489.00), purpose “Vacations for Peace Program”, post-payable.
• Cáritas Diocesana de Santiago - Parroquia de Cee: 3,000 euros (item 230/489.00), purpose “Agreement”, post-payable.
• Fundación Fernando Blanco: 18,000 euros (item 330/489.01), purpose “Agreement”, post-payable.
• Asociación Comisión de festas da Xunqueira de Cee: 50,000 euros (item 330/489.01), purpose “Agreement”, pre-payable.
• Sports subsidies via competition: 20,100 euros (item 340/489.00).
• Culture subsidies via competition: 20,100 euros (item 330/489.01).

Public exhibition and channels for claims

The agreement establishes that the modification will be open to the public for a period of fifteen days through announcements in the Official Gazette of the Province and on the City Council notice board, accessible via the organization’s electronic headquarters, for the submission of claims by interested parties. If no claim is submitted, the agreement will be considered final.

A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed directly against the final approval of the modification, in the form and within the time limits of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. The announcement was signed in Cee on September 28, 2026, by the mayor, Margarita Lamela Louzán.

For the residents of Cee, the publication opens the period to learn about and, if applicable, challenge the allocation of 155,959.10 euros of public money, with a grant of 43,759.10 euros to a single company that concentrates more than a quarter of the total and is justified by the “Operating result”.
