Cedillo expands its elderly residence with an extra 900,000 euros

Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Cedillo has definitively approved the credit modification file number 8/2026, a supplement of 900,000 euros charged to the treasury surplus earmarked for the expansion and modernization of the municipality’s nursing home. The decision raises the credit for the budget item from 250,000 to 1,150,000 euros and has been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres on Thursday, August 13, 2026, with the official reference BOP-2026-3836.

The announcement, signed by the Mayor-President Antonio González Riscado dated August 10, 2026, gives public notice of the definitive approval of the file since no objections were submitted during the procedure. The publication is made for the purposes of article 169.1, as referred to in 179.4, of the Consolidated Text of the Law Regulating Local Finances, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5.

The figures of the expansion

The credit supplement is concentrated in a single expenditure item of the municipal budget:

  • Budget item 622.00, “Expansion and modernization of the nursing home”: current credit before the supplement, €250,000.00; credit supplement, €900,000.00; final credit, €1,150,000.00.
  • Total amount of the modification: €900,000.00 in the expenditure chapter, with a final accumulated credit of €1,150,000.00.

Financing with treasury surplus

The budget modification is financed entirely from the treasury surplus for general expenditures, an internal source of financing that does not increase municipal indebtedness. On the revenue side, the operation is structured through chapter 8, item/sub-item 870.00, “Treasury surplus for general expenditures,” for the amount of €900,000.00, which balances total revenue with the approved expenditure supplement.

The agreement is published in Section I (Local Administration) of the provincial gazette as a notice of definitive approval, in accordance with the regulations governing local finances. The following appeals may be filed against the agreement:

  • Administrative contentious appeal before the Administrative Contentious Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura, based in Cáceres.
  • Deadline: two months from the publication of the notice, in accordance with article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Administrative Contentious Jurisdiction.
  • Filing the appeal does not by itself suspend the effectiveness of the challenged act or agreement, according to article 171.3 of the Consolidated Text of the Law Regulating Local Finances.

The expansion and modernization of the nursing home turns this infrastructure into one of the main municipal investments of Cedillo for the 2026 fiscal year and strengthens the municipality’s capacity to care for its elderly population, one of the pillars of social services in the rural areas of the province of Cáceres. With funding guaranteed by the treasury surplus, the City Council will be able to undertake works that multiply by more than four the budget initially planned for the facility.
