Por FactBox Admin

The Caudete City Council has announced a vacancy for a Local Police officer of the basic scale through an open competitive examination, included in the 2026 Public Employment Offer. The Local Government Board approved the regulatory bases in an ordinary session on October 7, 2026, and the announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 118, dated October 9, 2026, with official reference 26.240.
The call aims to permanently fill one position in the Basic Scale, Police category, of the municipality’s Local Police Corps, via the open shift and through an open competitive examination. The position is classified in Subgroup C-1 as established in Article 76 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee.
The position was already listed in the 2026 Public Employment Offer, approved by the Local Government Board on June 19, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 92, dated August 10, 2026. The process is governed, among other regulations, by Law 8/2002, of May 23, on the Coordination of Local Police in Castilla-La Mancha; Decree 110/2006, of October 17; Decree 37/2026, of July 7, which modifies the previous regulation; and Law 4/2011, of March 10, on Public Employment in Castilla-La Mancha.
Requirements and application deadline
Applicants must meet the following conditions by the date the application submission period ends:
- Hold Spanish nationality.
- Be at least eighteen years of age and not exceed the compulsory retirement age.
- Possess a High School diploma (Bachiller), Vocational Training Technician degree, or equivalent.
- Hold driving licenses for classes B and A or A2.
- Meet the physical and psychological conditions required for the performance of the duties.
- Have no criminal record for intentional crimes and not have been convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity.
- Commit to carrying weapons and using them in the cases provided for by law.
Applications, formalized in Annex IV, shall be addressed to the Mayor’s Office and submitted via the City Council’s General Electronic Registry or at the locations provided for in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1. The deadline is twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the call announcement in the Official State Gazette. The full bases are also published on the municipal electronic office at the address https://caudete.es.
Four eliminatory tests and selection course
The competitive phase will consist of four mandatory and eliminatory tests, which will be held in the following order:
- Physical fitness: 60-meter sprint, 1,000-meter endurance run, standing broad jump, and medicine ball throw.
- Knowledge test: a questionnaire of between 70 and 90 multiple-choice questions, 75 minutes in duration and graded from zero to ten points, with a minimum of five to pass.
- Psychotechnical test: general intelligence, personality, and capabilities test, graded as fit or unfit.
- Medical examination, in accordance with the medical exclusion table in Annex III.
The final score will be determined by the knowledge test and, in the event of a tie, by the best score in the questions of the special section. Those who pass the competitive examination will be appointed as trainee civil servants and must complete a selective course at the Citizen Protection School to acquire the status of career civil servant.
Appointment, deadlines, and appeals
The Qualifying Board, of the second category, will be designated upon the publication of the final list of admitted and excluded candidates and will consist of a presidency, a secretariat, and four members. The maximum duration of the selection process shall not exceed six months from the first test and, upon receipt of the report from the Citizen Protection School, the appointment of career civil servants must be formalized within fifteen days. The assumption of the assigned position must take place in the month following the appointment.
Against the call for applications and its rules, which exhaust the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month before the Mayor’s Office or, directly, a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Albacete. The announcement is signed by the mayor, José Miguel Mollá Nieto.
The call opens a stable public employment route in a municipality that thus reinforces its police force, with a regulated process subject to official publicity. Interested parties have a tight deadline that begins with the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette, so it is advisable to prepare the documentation in advance.
