Castilla y León convoca 100.000 euros para trabajadores en ERTE por incendios

The Regional Ministry of Industry, Universities, Employment and Trade of the Junta de Castilla y León has announced grants totaling 100,000 euros aimed at workers affected by temporary employment regulation files (ERTE) involving the suspension of the employment relationship or reduction of working hours in areas hit by the forest fires of the summer of 2026. The call is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 175, dated September 9, 2026, via the summary of the Order of August 30, 2026 (official reference: BOCYL-D-09092026-175-4).

The purpose of the aid is to compensate for the loss of purchasing power of workers affected by one or more ERTEs based on economic, technical, organizational, or production reasons, or due to temporary force majeure caused by adverse weather phenomena, civil protection emergencies, or other extraordinary events. The measure is part of Agreement 135/2026, of July 30, of the Junta de Castilla y León, which programs actions for the recovery of areas affected by the forest fires of the summer of 2026.

Beneficiaries and Amount

Beneficiaries may be workers who provide or have provided their services in one or more workplaces located in the municipalities and towns of Castilla y León affected by the employment regulation files. The aid is granted through direct award and is established as a fixed amount:

  • 10 euros per full day of suspension.
  • Maximum limit of 300 days per worker.

The credit assigned to the call may be increased during its validity by an additional amount of up to 100% of the total, in order to address a greater number of applications, in accordance with the provisions of Law 5/2008, of September 25, on Subsidies of the Community of Castilla y León.

Regulatory Bases and Deadline

The regulatory bases of the call are established in Order IEM/752/2026, of August 6, which regulates the grants aimed at workers affected by ERTEs of suspension or reduction of working hours in workplaces located in Castilla y León. The application submission period is as follows:

  • From the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León.
  • Until November 6, 2026.

The call is identified in the National Subsidies Database with the identifier BDNS 927851, where the full text can be consulted, as well as on the electronic office of the Administration of the Community of Castilla y León. The summary is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17.

Impact on Affected Areas

The measure comes at a key moment for the thousands of workers in the burned regions of Castilla y León, who saw their contracts suspended or reduced following the fires of the summer of 2026. With this call, the Junta seeks to alleviate the loss of income for those who were forced to enter an ERTE (temporary employment regulation file) due to the destruction of activity at their workplaces.

The order is signed by the Councilor for Industry, Universities, Employment, and Trade, Juan Carlos Suárez-Quiñones Fernández, and is part of the package of recovery actions for areas affected by forest fires. For workers in the burned areas, the subsidy represents a direct supplement to their income during the suspension or reduction of their working day, with a cap of 3,000 euros per worker if 300 full working days are reached.
