Castilla y León concede 161.332 euros para enseñar español a extranjeros

The Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Regional Government of Castilla y León has resolved the call for grants aimed at financing business creation and technological innovation in the sector of Spanish language teaching for foreigners. The decision is formalized through Order CYT/910/2026, of September 14, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León no. 182, of September 18, 2026, pages 102 to 104. The total amount granted amounts to 161,332.57 euros.

Eight subsidized projects

The resolution grants aid to eight entities and projects, all classified under the technological innovation modality, which are detailed in Annex I of the order. Individual amounts range between 4,933.66 euros and 50,000 euros, depending on the score obtained by each application.

Framework of the call

The aid derives from the call approved by Order of April 30, 2026 of the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport, published in the B.O.C. y L. no. 84, of May 6, 2026. The tenth section of that order assigns the competence to resolve the procedure to the Regional Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport, who in this case signs the resolution in Valladolid on September 14, 2026, José Alberto Díaz Pico.

The resolution is adopted in accordance with the binding report of the Evaluation Commission, the body responsible for evaluating the submitted projects.

Rejected applications

Annex II lists the applicants and projects that did not obtain a grant. The cause is the failure to reach the minimum required score, set at 30 points according to the fifth section of the call, which establishes that all applicants who reach that threshold for the submitted project will be beneficiaries.

  • ESTHER SAN JOSÉ MIGUEL.
  • LAURA ORTIZ ARCOS.

Deadlines and appeals

Against Order CYT/910/2026, which exhausts administrative remedies, an optional appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) may be filed within one month before the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport, or alternatively, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed directly before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León within two months. Both periods are calculated from the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León.

The resolution closes the cycle of a call for applications that distributes slightly more than 161,000 euros among academies, companies, and a private university dedicated to the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language, an expanding sector in Castilla y León due to its weight in linguistic tourism. The eight beneficiaries may use these funds to finance business creation and technological innovation projects, while the two excluded applicants are left out for failing to exceed the 30-point threshold required by the guidelines.
