Castilla-La Mancha announces grants of up to 100,000 euros for feature films

The Regional Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha has announced the grants for the production of feature films in the region for the year 2026, through the Resolution of 08/20/2026, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha (DOCM no. 162, of August 25, 2026, page 30848). The call, registered in the National Grants Database with identifier 925802 and reference 2026/6280, finances fiction, documentary, and animation projects with up to 100,000 euros per project.
The purpose of these grants is the encouragement and promotion of the audiovisual sector in Castilla-La Mancha through the financing of production costs for feature films. The procedure is processed under a competitive bidding regime and is governed by Order 85/2021, of June 10, which establishes the regulatory bases, as amended by Order 83/2024, of May 22, and by Order 34/2026, of March 4. The resolution is signed by the Vice-Minister of Culture and Sports, Carmen Teresa Olmedo Pedroche, by delegation of the Minister.
Financing and amount
The maximum total amount of the call amounts to 200,000 euros, charged to budget application 18080000.G/455A/47417, distributed over three annual installments:
- 2026 Installment: 100,000 euros.
- 2027 Installment: 50,000 euros.
- 2028 Installment: 50,000 euros.
The maximum grant per project may not exceed 75% of the eligible expenditure, with a cap of 100,000 euros. The individual amount is determined according to the score obtained: from 80 to 100 points, 100% of the requested aid is granted; from 70 to 79.99 points, 80%; from 60 to 69.99, 70%; and from 50 to 59.99, 60%. To qualify as a beneficiary, a minimum of 50 points must be achieved.
Beneficiaries and requirements
Private natural or legal persons who own independent film or audiovisual production companies may be beneficiaries, in accordance with article 4.n) of Law 55/2007, of December 28, on Cinema. Among the required conditions are:
- Having the tax domicile in Castilla-La Mancha, or that the filming takes place at least 40% in the region (for documentaries and animation, 40% of the technical and human resources must be established in the community).
- Being registered for the Economic Activities Tax under heading 961.
- Being registered in the Registry of Cinematographic and Audiovisual Companies of the ICAA.
- Not having received a grant in previous calls of this line.
Projects must be developed between January 1, 2026, and June 30, 2029, have Spanish nationality or be in a position to obtain it, and consist of works of sixty minutes or more intended for exhibition in theaters, television, or internet platforms.
Deadline and method of submission
Applications shall be submitted exclusively electronically with an electronic signature through the Electronic Office of the Administration of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha. The deadline will be ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the call and its summary in the DOCM. The resolution of the procedure must be issued within a maximum period of six months.
Advance payments
The payment of the grant will be made in three advance installments:
- 2026: first advance payment of 50% of the total, following the granting resolution.
- 2027: second payment of 25%, upon notification of the start of filming.
- 2028: third payment of 25%, upon accreditation of having executed at least 75% of the grant.
The call represents a key boost for the regional audiovisual sector, combining a significant amount per project with a system of advance payments that facilitates liquidity for independent production companies. With criteria that reward filming in the region, the hiring of professionals from Castilla-La Mancha, and gender equality, the Junta reinforces its commitment to consolidating Castilla-La Mancha as a territory for cinematographic production.
