Castellar de la Frontera approves its 2026 budget with 4.1 million

The City Council of Castellar de la Frontera has definitively approved the General Budget for the 2026 fiscal year, which amounts to 4,111,922.07 euros, along with the execution bases and the staff list of civil servants and contractual personnel. The agreement, signed on August 27 by the mayor, Mr. Adrián Vaca Carrillo, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz number 169, dated September 2, 2026, under reference No. 283.173.
The approval is processed in accordance with Article 169 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, and Article 20 of Decree 500/1990, of April 20. The budget may be challenged before the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction under the requirements and deadlines set forth in Articles 170 and 171 of the aforementioned revised text.
A budget of 4.11 million
The expenditure statement is structured into current operations for 3,856,922.07 euros, capital operations for 250,000 euros, and financial operations for 5,000 euros. The bulk of the spending is concentrated on personnel and current goods and services.

The staff list
The budget incorporates the City Council’s staff list, which includes both civil servants and permanent contractual personnel on a full-time and part-time basis. Among the civil servants are positions of national qualification, general administration, and special administration.

Among the full-time permanent contractual personnel, there are 7 positions for administrative assistants, 7 for works and services laborers, 3 for home care assistants, and positions for management technicians, Guadalinfo technicians, works supervisors, multipurpose officers, electricians, and park and garden wardens. Part-time positions include an architect (60%), social worker (80%), active aging monitor (53%), and home care assistant (70%).
Impact for the municipality
With a budget of slightly over 4.1 million euros, the City Council of Castellar de la Frontera guarantees the provision of municipal services and reserves 250,000 euros for real investments, a key chapter for the maintenance and improvement of the municipality’s infrastructure and facilities. The publication in the official bulletin opens the period for residents and entities to challenge the agreement before the courts, under the terms provided by local treasury legislation.
