Castellón appoints two new local police officers as permanent staff

The Local Government Board of the Castellón de la Plana City Council has agreed, in a session held on July 30, 2026, to the permanent appointment of two career civil servants as Local Police officers. The decision, which strengthens the municipality’s security staff, was made public via an announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Castellón number 100, dated August 20, 2026, with reference 03745-2026-U.

The appointments are formalized within the framework of filling vacancies in the special administration scale of the Local Police force, following the successful completion of the corresponding selection process by the candidates.

The new officers

The agreement permanently appoints two career civil servants of the City Council to occupy positions as local police officers:

• Mr. Jesús Damián Flores Martín
• Mr. Pascual Arnal Gauchía

Both are classified in group C, subgroup C1, belonging to the special administration scale, special services sub-scale, local police class, basic scale specialty and officer category, with their corresponding job position as local police officer.

Regulatory framework and procedure

The appointment occurs in the exercise of the competencies of the Local Government Board, the collegiate body of the Castellón de la Plana City Council responsible for the ordinary management of municipal personnel. The status of career civil servants implies the acquisition of the position on a permanent basis, once the phases of the selection process convened for this purpose have been completed.

The announcement appears signed in Castelló de la Plana on August 18, 2026, by the delegate of the Government Area of economic impulse, employment and human capital, Juan Carlos Redondo Gamero, as the authority signing the official publication.
