Castelló grants the fairgrounds to Toma Música for the CAPLA Festival

The Local Government Board of the Castelló de la Plana City Council has authorized Toma Música, S.L. to occupy 11,400 square meters of the fairs and markets grounds for the celebration of the CAPLA Festival. The agreement was adopted in the session of September 10, 2026, and is made public in the Official Gazette of the Province of Castellón number 114, dated September 22, 2026, with the official reference 04049-2026.

The resolution is disseminated in compliance with Article 83 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, which requires the publication of administrative acts affecting the rights or interests of citizens. The announcement corresponds to the municipality of Castelló de la Plana and is inserted in the Local Administration section of the provincial gazette.

A concession of 11,400 square meters

The authorized area is divided between two zones of the fairs and markets grounds, located at C/ Padre José de Tabernes, no. 2:

• 1,400 m² of the open-air area.
• 10,000 m² of the covered area.

The declared purpose is the celebration of the CAPLA Festival, a musical event that will intensively occupy the municipal facility for six consecutive days.

From September 29 to October 4

The authorized occupation period spans from September 29 to October 4, 2026, both inclusive. The authorization is limited to those dates and to the use indicated in the agreement, which does not contemplate other activities or extensions in the published text.

The same municipal body, in the session of September 10, 2026, approved another occupation of the same grounds: the Association of Fairground Operators of the Province of Castellón will install the attractions for the All Saints’ Fair in the open-air area between October 18 and November 29, 2026, according to the announcement with reference 04048-2026 published in the same issue of the gazette. Both events thus chain the use of the fairgrounds during the autumn.

Consultation of the file and publicity of the agreement

Information and documentation regarding the file may be consulted at the Heritage Office of the Contracting and Heritage Section of the Most Excellent City Council of Castelló de la Plana, in the Quatre Cantons building, C/ Enmedio, no. 82, second floor.

The announcement was signed in Castelló de la Plana on September 11, 2026, by the Head of the Contracting and Heritage Section, Alejandra Casas García. The publication in the official gazette opens the public information process provided for in the administrative procedure regulations.

The assignment of the fairgrounds to a private promoter for nearly a week concentrates a notable volume of people, traffic, and economic activity in the vicinity of C/ Padre José de Tabernes, and coincides on the calendar with the All Saints’ Fair. For residents and for the city’s hospitality, commerce, and mobility sectors, the announcement sets the exact dates of the event and the municipal space committed, data that until now only appeared in the agreement of the Local Government Board.
