Castejón de Henares approves the new waste collection tax

Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of the City Council of Castejón de Henares, in an ordinary session held on February 12, 2026, agreed to the provisional approval of the modification of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the fee for the provision of the urban solid waste collection service. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara, number 160, dated August 21, 2026, and opens a thirty-day public information period for residents to examine the file and submit allegations.

The processing is based on Article 17.2 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. In accordance with this provision, the file is submitted for public information for a period of thirty days, counted from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the provincial gazette.

The announcement is signed by Carlos Piña Barbero, dated August 18, 2026, and is published in the City Councils section of the gazette.

Deadlines and Effects for Residents

During the public exhibition period, interested parties may consult the file and submit any claims they deem appropriate. The procedure includes an automatic effect:

  • If no claims have been submitted after thirty days, the agreement will be considered definitively approved.
  • The modification directly affects the waste collection fee receipt for all households and establishments in the municipality.
  • The period for allegations begins the day following the publication of the announcement in the BOP of Guadalajara.

Relevance for the Municipality

The new fiscal ordinance updates the fee taxing the provision of the urban solid waste collection service in Castejón de Henares, a local tax that directly impacts the budget of each taxpayer. The definitive approval, once the allegations process is completed, will set the new quotas to be applied in the coming fiscal years; therefore, citizen participation during this period is key to adjusting the text before it comes into force.
