Castañeda convoca 22.000 euros en becas universitarias para el curso 2026-2027

The Castañeda City Council has announced grants for university studies, higher artistic studies, university master’s degrees, and master’s degrees in artistic teachings for the 2026-2027 academic year, under a competitive bidding process. The call is formalized through the Mayor’s Resolution of September 23, 2026, an extract of which was published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 (BOC no. 187), with the official reference CVE-2026-7500. The maximum total allocation amounts to 22,000.00 euros.

Regulatory Framework and Issuing Body

The call is supported by articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database, with the identifier BDNS 931265. The regulatory bases were approved by agreement of the Plenary of the Corporation within the framework of the Budget Execution Bases of the Castañeda City Council for the year 2026.

The budget credit to which the grant is charged is 2026.0.326.48.01. The resolution bears the signature of the mayor, Marcos García Carrera, and is dated in Castañeda on September 23, 2026.

Requirements to Access the Aid

Students who meet the following conditions may apply for the aid:

  • Be enrolled in the 2026-2027 academic year in studies leading to a university degree, a degree in higher artistic teachings, a university master’s, or a master’s in artistic teachings, in public or private centers.
  • Be registered on the census and reside with the entire family unit in Castañeda, with at least one year of seniority from the end of the application period.
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 48 credits; when the center’s regulations limit enrollment, 80% of the possible credits will suffice.
  • All members of the family unit must be up to date with their tax obligations to the State Tax Administration Agency, the Territorial Treasury of the Social Security, and the Castañeda City Council.

Persons subject to causes of prohibition from being beneficiaries according to article 13.2 of Law 38/2003 and article 12.2 of Law 10/2006, of July 17, on Grants of Cantabria, as well as those with declared or pending repayments from previous calls, are excluded. It is a necessary condition to pursue studies during the full academic year: dropping out of the course will result in the repayment of the grant.

Deadline and Method of Submission

Applications must be submitted within 15 business days starting from the day following the publication of the extract in the Official Gazette of Cantabria; if the last day is a non-working day, the deadline is extended to the first following business day.

Interested parties must use the standardized form approved by the City Council and may choose from:

  • Electronic registration, via the municipal electronic office (castaneda.sedelectronica.es).
  • In-person registration at the General Registry of the Castañeda City Council, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:00 hours.
  • Any of the means provided for in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Impact for students of the municipality

The call maintains municipal support for families with children in higher education within a context of increasing tuition and travel costs. The requirement for family residency (empadronamiento) of at least one year links the aid to roots in the municipality, while the threshold of 48 credits and the obligation to complete the full academic year reinforce the academic nature of the grant. With a maximum allocation of 22,000 euros and competitive bidding, the distribution will depend on the number of admitted applications and the evaluation criteria set out in the rules.
