Casavieja modifies the mechanical traction vehicle tax

The Casavieja City Council has initially approved the modification of Fiscal Ordinance No. 2 regulating the Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax (IVTM), according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila number 168, dated September 1, 2026. The decision was adopted by the City Council-Plenary in a session held on August 12, 2026, and the text is now open to the public for thirty days for the submission of allegations.

The modification was signed by the Mayor-President, Vanessa Muñoz García, on August 17, 2026, and directly affects all vehicle owners registered in the Ávila municipality.

Initial approval and public exhibition process

In accordance with current legislation, the initial approval agreement is subject to public information for a period of thirty calendar days, starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the official gazette. During this period, any interested party may submit allegations or claims against the text of the ordinance.

Automatic final approval

The Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax is a municipally managed tax that levies the ownership of vehicles fit to circulate on public roads, and its collection is allocated to the city council’s own budgets. The revision of the fiscal ordinance regulating it may affect the quotas applicable to different types of vehicles, making it of direct interest to the residents of Casavieja who own cars, motorcycles, trucks, or other vehicles registered in the municipality.
