Casas del Castañar announces 5,000 euros in school supply grants

The Casas del Castañar City Council has approved the call for grants for school supplies and books for the 2026/2027 academic year, with a budget of 5,000 euros. The Mayoral resolution, signed by the mayor-president Francisco García Calle on September 14, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres on Monday, September 21, 2026, number 0180, with the official reference BOP-2026-4378. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis and are aimed at families with children enrolled at the CRA Riscos de Villavieja, Casas del Castañar campus.

Regulatory Framework and Budgetary Allocation

The call is supported by article 21.1.f) and s) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, and is governed by Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, its Regulation approved by Royal Decree 886/2006, of July 21, Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure, and Royal Decree 130/2019, of March 8, regarding the National Subsidies Database.

The file was processed with the proposal from the Service and the Mayoral order of September 7, 2026, followed by the reports from the Secretariat and the auditing report of September 9, 2026. The expenditure, amounting to 5,000 euros, is charged to the budgetary application 320.480.00 of the current municipal budget. The instructing body is the municipal Secretariat and the resolution corresponds to the Mayor-President.

Amounts by Educational Stage

The aid is individualized according to the grade in which the minor is enrolled:

• Early Childhood Education: 100 euros.
• Primary Education: 150 euros.
• Secondary Education: 200 euros.

In no case may the total amount of the grants awarded exceed the available credit, nor may the sum of this grant and others from public or private administrations or entities exceed the actual cost of the subsidized materials and books.

Requirements and Documentation

Natural persons with children enrolled at the CRA Riscos de Villavieja, Casas del Castañar campus, in Early Childhood and Primary education, as well as those attending Secondary education who were enrolled at that center during their final year of Primary education, may apply. It is required to be up to date with the AEAT (Tax Agency) and the TGSS (Social Security), to have no outstanding debts with the City Council, and to present:

• DNI (both sides) or NIE with passport.
• Certificate from the school center with the minor’s details.
• Certification of being up to date with tax obligations and Social Security.
• Annex II of the responsible declaration.
• Bank details of the applicant.

Deadlines and Processing

The submission period is 20 business days starting from the day following the publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres. Applications, using the standardized form available at the Town Hall and on the municipal electronic office, are addressed to the Mayor and must be submitted physically at the Entry Registry. Submission after the deadline or without the official forms is grounds for inadmissibility.

If the application contains defects, the interested party will have ten business days to rectify them; the provisional proposal will be notified with another ten days for allegations. The maximum period to resolve and notify is three months from the publication of the call, after which the application is understood to be rejected due to administrative silence. Payment is made in a single installment via bank transfer. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed with the Mayor within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Cáceres within two months.

The call alleviates the start-of-school-year expenses for households in the municipality and reinforces schooling at the CRA Riscos de Villavieja, Casas del Castañar campus, within a context of dispersed population. Beneficiaries must keep the minor enrolled throughout the entire school year and submit to the financial controls provided for in the subsidy regulations, with an obligation to reimburse in case of non-compliance.
