Casas de Reina approves the visit fee for the Roman Theatre
Por FactBox Admin

The Casas de Reina City Council has initially approved the fiscal ordinance regulating the fee for entry and visits to the Roman Theatre of Regina and the Regina Turdulorum Archaeological Site. The agreement was adopted by the corporation’s Plenary in an ordinary session held on September 22 and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz on Friday, October 2, 2026, under Announcement 3840/2026. With this insertion, the thirty-day public information period provided for by local treasury legislation begins.
The announcement is included in the Local Administration section, City Councils subsection, of provincial bulletin number 189, corresponding to October 2, 2026. The resolution is titled “Initial approval of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the fee for entry and visit to the Roman Theatre of Regina and the Regina Turdulorum Archaeological Site” and is signed by the mayor, Fernando Gallego Castaño.
Provisional approval in plenary session
The Plenary of the Casas de Reina City Council, meeting in an ordinary session on September 22, agreed to the provisional approval of the fiscal ordinance regulating the fee for entry and visits to the two archaeological spaces. The text of the announcement expressly reflects the provisional nature of the agreement, which is not yet final.
The file is submitted for public exhibition in compliance with Article 17.2 of the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. This regulation is what establishes the public information procedure to which the new municipal tax figure is now incorporated.
Thirty days to examine and appeal
The timeframe and conditions of the procedure are as follows:
- Period: thirty days, counted from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz.
- Purpose: so that interested parties may examine the file and present any claims they deem appropriate.
- Place of consultation: municipal offices and the City Council’s electronic headquarters, at the address http://casasdereina.sedelectronica.es.
- Effect of silence: if no claims have been presented after the period has elapsed, the agreement will be considered definitively approved.
During this period, any interested party may submit the allegations they consider pertinent to the Casas de Reina City Council.
Scope of the new tax figure
The ordinance creates and regulates a municipal fee that taxes entry and visits to the Roman Theatre of Regina and the Regina Turdulorum Archaeological Site, two sites within the municipality of Casas de Reina. The published announcement does not reproduce the articles of the ordinance nor the amounts of the fee, which are contained in the file submitted for public information.
The initial approval of the regulation directly affects visitors to both spaces and the tourism management of the archaeological site, which now has its own fiscal instrument to regulate access and visits.
The publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz opens the only planned participation process before the ordinance is finalized. If no claims are filed within thirty days, the fee for entry and visits to the Roman Theatre of Regina and the Archaeological Site of Regina Turdulorum will be definitively approved, and the City Council of Casas de Reina will be able to apply it to visitors of the two sites.
