Cartaya announces nine Local Police positions in its 2026 OPE

The Cartaya City Council has published the rules and the call to fill nine Local Police positions, included in the Public Employment Offer (OPE) corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year. Of these, eight will be filled through the competitive examination system and one through the merit-based competition system, according to the announcement of August 19, 2026, disseminated in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA).

The call is published in BOJA no. 165, of August 26, 2026, within the city council announcements section, with the official reference text no. 11207 and procedure number PP. 1675/2026. The announcement refers to the regulatory bases that establish the requirements, the syllabus, and the selection procedure for access to the Local Police scale of the Huelva municipality.

An employment offer to reinforce local security

The call is part of the stabilization and reinforcement policy for local security force staff in Andalusia. With these nine positions, the Cartaya City Council seeks to consolidate personnel in the Local Police, a key body for citizen security and traffic management in the coastal municipality of the province of Huelva.

The distribution of the called positions is as follows:

• 8 positions via the competitive examination system (open entry).
• 1 position via the competition system (merit-based competition).

Requirements and selection procedure

The rules, approved by the council, establish the general conditions for participation, including nationality, age, required qualification, and the absence of a criminal record that would prevent access to public service. The selection process will be carried out in accordance with the regulatory norms for local police in Andalusia and basic public employment legislation.
