Por FactBox Admin

The Carrizo de la Ribera City Council has approved, via Mayoral Resolution of August 18, 2026, the guidelines governing the call for grants for the acquisition of school materials for the 2026-2027 academic year. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León number 164, dated August 28, 2026, with reference BOP-LE-2026-164003.
The grant, which is processed under a competitive bidding system, aims to provide financial assistance to the most needy students in the municipality for the pursuit of studies in Regulated Education. The maximum amount is set at 150 euros per student for all educational levels, although it shall never exceed the amount of the proven expenditure.
Requirements and beneficiaries
Families registered in the municipality of Carrizo before July 1, 2026, may apply for the grant, provided that both the student and at least one member of the family unit (father, mother, or guardian) are registered, with the obligation to maintain this status at the end of the subsidized course. The levels to which the call is addressed are:
- Early Childhood Education
- Primary Education
- Secondary Education
- Basic, Intermediate, or Higher Vocational Training
The student must pursue their studies at any teaching center within the municipality, except in the case of Vocational Training (FP), where any center supported by public funds is permitted. Those with an open file for absenteeism or outstanding debts with the City Council are excluded.
Amounts and limits per item
To ensure equality among beneficiaries and reach more families, the guidelines set maximum subsidizable limits for certain items:
- Backpack: one per student, maximum €20
- Pencil case: one per student, maximum €10
- Planner/Agenda: one per student, maximum €10
- Lab coat or smock: one per student, maximum €20
- Pack of 500 sheets of paper: one per student
Permanent markers are excluded from the subsidizable material, as the grants are exclusively aimed at basic and safe educational materials. The grants are compatible with others of the same purpose, provided that the total does not exceed the cost of the expenses.
Deadline and submission of applications
The deadline for submitting applications is twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the call, and in any case until October 2, 2026, inclusive. Applications must be submitted at the Registry of the Carrizo City Council, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 hours, or through the electronic office. They must be accompanied by proof of enrollment, the center’s report on the necessary materials, and the paid invoice for the expenditure.
The processing of the procedure corresponds to the departments of Education and Culture and Social Affairs, Family, Equality, Public Health, and Rural Entrepreneurship, while the Evaluation Commission is composed of the delegated councilwoman for Education and Culture, the delegated councilwoman for Social Affairs, and the City Council’s social worker. Payment will be made via bank transfer to the account indicated by each applicant.
Impact for families
The call for applications provides direct relief for the families of Carrizo de la Ribera regarding an expense of particular weight at the start of the school year, and reinforces the municipal commitment to equal educational opportunities. The announcement, signed by Mayor Alfonso Álvarez García, is part of the municipality’s policy to support schooling and allows residents to plan the purchase of materials with a grant of up to 150 euros per student.
