The Carral City Council opens the call for grants to non-profit entities for the promotion of culture, sports, and environmental activities for 2026, with a total budget of 40,400 euros. The call was approved by mayoral decree 367/2026, dated July 30, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 166, dated September 1, 2026, under announcement number 2026/5648.
Applications may be submitted for one month starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the gazette, through the City Council’s electronic office. The full text of the call is available in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 926598.
Object and beneficiaries
The call, which is governed by the regulatory bases published in BOP no. 147, dated August 5, 2026, aims to encourage the active and creative use of leisure, boost local traditions and cultural heritage, promote environmental protection and awareness, and encourage sports, especially among school-age children and in the female sphere.
Beneficiaries may include neighborhood associations, cultural associations, organizers of patron saint festivals, and other non-profit, sporting, club, or environmental entities that meet the following requirements:
- Be legally constituted and registered in the Municipal Registry of Associations of the Carral City Council (REMAC); sports clubs must also be registered in the Autonomous Registry of Sports Entities of Galicia.
- Have a minimum of 20 associated members (30 in the case of sports entities), except for those dedicated exclusively to the organization of patron saint festivals.
- Carry out their activities within the municipal term of Carral and have their registered office there.
- Be up to date with obligations to the AEAT, Social Security, the Autonomous Community of Galicia, and the City Council itself.
Budget distribution
The credit is distributed among four lines of action, assigned to different budgetary applications:
- Culture: 20,000 euros (application 334.48099), of which 6,000 are allocated to cultural activities and 14,000 to parish festivals.
- Environment: 2,400 euros (application 170.48011).
- Sports and physical activity: 18,000 euros (application 341.48013).
Generally, the amount per entity shall not exceed 1,000 euros for cultural activities, 1,200 euros for environmental activities, 7,000 euros for entities organizing parish festivals, and 9,000 euros for sports entities. The grants are compatible with other public subsidies, provided that the total does not exceed the cost of the activity.
Evaluation and justification
Applications will be evaluated up to a maximum of 100 points (150 for sports entities), considering the organization and development of activities, coordination with municipal programs, the trajectory and social base of the entity, the use of Galician as a normalized language, and the updating of the website and social networks.
The deadline to submit the justification of expenses will end on November 21, 2026, and must be done through the electronic office with digitally signed forms. An expense will be considered completed if it was effectively paid before the end of this period.
The call, signed by mayor José Luís Fernández Mouriño, represents direct support for the associative fabric of Carral, which will see its cultural, festive, sporting, and environmental activities funded throughout the year, reinforcing the role of local entities in the social life of the municipality.
