Cardeña delegates the Mayor's Office to her deputy during paternity leave

The Cardeña City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba the delegation of all Mayoral functions during the mayor’s paternity leave period. The decision, adopted via Mayoral Resolution No. 966/2026, dated August 24, 2026, is recorded in issue number 171 of the gazette, dated September 3, 2026, page 12842, with official reference BOP-A-2026-2969.

The mayor-president, José Manuel Ruiz Galiano, has delegated his powers to the first deputy mayor, Catalina Barragán Magdaleno, during the six mandatory weeks of paternity leave recognized under Spanish labor legislation. The delegation is supported by article 23.3 of Law 7/1985, regulating the Bases of Local Government.

The delegation is based on article 23.3 of Law 7/1985, which allows the mayor to delegate the exercise of their powers to members of the corporation. The publication is carried out in compliance with article 44 of the Regulation on the Organization, Operation, and Legal Regime of Local Entities, approved by Royal Decree 2568/1986, of November 28.
