Carballo takes over the market project co-financed with ERDF funds

The Carballo City Council has announced the assumption of competence by the Mayor’s Office to approve the file for the renovation work of the first floor of the Municipal Market, a project co-financed with ERDF funds from the European Union. The decision, adopted for reasons of urgency, was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 170, on Monday, September 7, 2026, under announcement number 2026/5747.
The mayor, José Daniel Pérez López, signed resolution 2413/2026 on August 31, by which he assumes the competence that had been delegated to the Local Government Board. The original delegation had been granted by mayoral resolution 2944/2025, dated October 13, 2025, published in the BOP of A Coruña number 208, on October 30, 2025.
A project to revitalize the market
The file, identified as OBR 16/2026, refers to the work “Renovation of the first floor of the Municipal Market for the revitalization of the building and its commercial activity through the development of new social and cultural activities.” The project is part of the Integrated Action Plan “Carballo a man” and is co-financed with ERDF funds from the European Union within the framework of the Spanish Multi-regional Program 2021-2027.
The intervention seeks to transform the first floor of the market into a space for new social and cultural activities, thereby reinforcing its function as a commercial driver for the municipality.
