Por FactBox Admin

The Carballo City Council opens the call for subsidies for the celebration of popular, traditional, and patronal festivals for the year 2026, with a global budget of 27,500 euros. The extract of the agreement of the Local Government Board of August 24, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 177, of September 16, 2026, with announcement number 2026/5969 and identifier BDNS 928991.
The purpose of the call is to collaborate with the festival commissions of the municipality linked to a specific territory for the realization of festivals with cultural or gastronomic roots that are already consolidated. The activities must be open to all citizens, take place in accessible spaces for public or neighborhood use, and have free admission. The regulatory bases were previously published in BOP number 168, of September 3, 2026.
Beneficiaries and requirements
Aid may be requested by legally constituted entities with a registered office in Carballo that are registered with the council, as well as groups of natural or legal persons, public or private, or collectives registered or with residency in the municipality, provided they are linked to the territory where the festival is celebrated. Among the required requirements are:
- Developing a program of festive activities within the period of dates specified in the call.
- Being non-profit and ensuring that the subsidized activities do not pursue a profit motive.
- Having no pending justification for any council subsidy corresponding to the previous financial year.
- Submitting the responsible declaration or permit request prior to the celebration of the festival.
- Having civil liability insurance in the name of the organizing entity or group.
The same festival will only be subsidized through a single festival commission. Youth festivals or similar, those for particular commemorations or of private origin, those organized by for-profit entities, and those intended solely for members of an entity are excluded.
Actions and amount
The aid is intended for the organization and implementation of the program of activities for festivals celebrated during the year 2026, until October 31, as well as those carried out after October 31, 2025. The following are considered eligible expenses:
- The contracting of musical or cultural activities.
- The rental of infrastructure.
- Insurance and copyright payments.
- Advertising and pyrotechnics expenses.
The global amount allocated for the granting of these subsidies is 27,500 euros, charged to the budget application 3380.48901 “Subsidies for neighborhood and parish festivals” of the general budget of the council. According to the bases, an aid of 500 euros per festival day in which an orchestra or live musical group performs is established, and the municipal subsidy shall not exceed 50% of the total project budget.
Deadline and processing
Applications must be submitted through the electronic office of the Carballo City Council, or at the General Registry in the case of individuals or groups. The period begins the day after the publication of the summary in the BOP and ends on November 3, 2026. The processing will follow an abbreviated procedure, and the payment will be made via bank transfer in a single payment, without the need to present subsequent justification, as this must be part of the documentation accompanying the application.
The call, signed by Mayor José Daniel Pérez López, constitutes an opportunity for festival committees and neighborhood collectives in Carballo to finance their festive programs and preserve the cultural tradition of the municipality. Interested entities have just over a month to submit their applications before the deadline closes.
