Capdepera calls for urgent Local Police positions in interim pool

The Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB 102/2026, of 15 August) has published the call by the Capdepera City Council to establish a recruitment pool for interim civil servant staff of the Local Police of the municipality. The measure, approved by Mayoral Decree of 11 August 2026 and signed by the mayoress Núria García Caballería, responds to the urgent need to fill vacant positions in the municipal local police force.
The purpose of the call is the creation of a recruitment pool for the Special Administration scale, Special Services subscale, local police class, classification group C1. The selection procedure will be a competitive examination and is governed by the current regulations on coordination of local police in the Balearic Islands, specifically Law 4/2013, of 17 July, with its amendments, and Decree-Laws 6/2021 and 6/2022.
Requirements for participation
To be eligible for one of the positions, interested persons must meet a series of requirements established in the terms. Among them, the following should be highlighted: Spanish nationality, being of legal age, and holding a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Hold Spanish nationality.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Hold a high school diploma, technical diploma or equivalent, or be in a position to obtain one.
- Hold the certificate of aptitude from the basic training course for the local police category issued by the EBAP.
- Not suffer from any illness or physical or psychophysical defect that prevents or impairs the proper performance of duties.
- Not have been dismissed from public service, nor be disqualified from holding public office.
- Have no criminal record for intentional offences.
- Hold valid driving licences for classes A2 and B.
- Undertake to carry weapons and, if applicable, to use them.
- Hold level B2 of Catalan language proficiency.
Deadlines and procedures
Applications must be submitted to the entry registry of the Capdepera City Council or by any of the means provided for in Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the common administrative procedure. The submission period is 5 business days from the day following publication in the BOIB.

Selection process and merit assessment
The selection process will be based on a competitive examination, assessing the merits of applicants according to a scale established in Annex 1 of the terms. The assessment board will consist of five full members and five alternates.
- Training course: the grade obtained will be multiplied by a coefficient of 0.8, up to a maximum of 8 points.
- Services rendered: 0.5 points for each full month of service as a local or tourist police officer in the Balearic Islands, up to a maximum of 30 points.
The resulting pool will have a maximum duration of two years. The grading committee will publish a provisional list of scores, and applicants will have 3 business days to submit claims for corrections regarding the provisional assessment. Finally, the definitive list of the pool will be published, in order of precedence, on the notice board and on the municipal website.
Pool management and appointments
In the event of a vacancy, the offer will be made to the people included in the pool following the order of precedence. In the case of a tie, the highest score for services rendered and then the highest score for the training course will be taken into account, successively. Grounds for unavailability are established, such as being in a period of pregnancy, providing services to another municipality in the Balearic Islands, or suffering from illness.
