Cantillana announces a vacancy for Local Police officer on secondment

Por FactBox Admin

The Cantillana City Council has called for the temporary provision of a Local Police position through appointment on secondment, due to the insufficiency of the Force’s personnel to meet the needs of the municipality. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville, number 172, Friday, September 4, 2026, with the official reference BOP-SE-2026-172006.

The decision stems from Resolution No. 1113/2026, dated August 31, 2026, signed by Ms. Paula Hernández Lucena, Delegated Councilor for Finance, Human Resources, Youth, and Animal Welfare, by virtue of the powers conferred by Mayoral Resolution No. 1972/2025, dated December 18, 2025. The process is governed by a merit-based competition system and is processed via an urgency procedure.

Purpose and characteristics of the position

The vacant position belongs to the Local Police Force of Cantillana, assigned to the Department of Public Safety, with level 19 and classification in group C, subgroup C1, basic scale, and Special Administration subscale. The coverage on secondment will have a maximum duration of two years, in accordance with article 55 of Law 6/2023, of July 7, on Local Police of Andalusia.

  • Total positions: 1
  • Selection system: merit-based competition
  • Procedure: voluntary secondment
  • Maximum duration: two years

Requirements and submission of applications

Civil servants who hold the status of Local Police from any Public Administration of the same professional classification group, in active service or in another administrative situation except for final suspension, may participate. Furthermore, express consent from the competent body of the originating City Council is required, as well as the absence of records of serious or very serious misconduct, and the submission of supporting documents for the claimed merits.

Applications shall be addressed to the Mayor’s Office or the Delegated Councilor for Human Resources and shall be submitted to the General Electronic Registry of the City Council or at the locations provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, within a period of 10 business days starting from the day following the publication in the gazette. The application must be accompanied, among other things, by the certification from the Secretary of the originating City Council, the Mayor’s resolution authorizing the secondment, the ID (DNI), A2 and B driving licenses, the employment history report, and the merits.

Assessment of merits and interview

The Qualifying Board, composed of a president, two members, and a secretary, will assess the merits documented within the deadline and will conduct a personal interview with the admitted applicants. The scoring is distributed into three blocks:

  • Training (maximum 5 points): university degree (2 points) and training and professional development courses related to the position (up to 3 points).
  • Experience and seniority (maximum 5 points): 0.20 points per year in Local Police Forces of Andalusia, 0.10 per year in other Security Forces and Corps, and 0.05 per year in other Administrations.
  • Other merits (maximum 5 points): police merit medals, crosses, or individual public commendations.

The interview will be graded as fit or unfit, and the Tribunal will propose only the person with the highest score. The selected person must take office within three business days, or eight if it involves a change of residence.

Relevance of the call

The call responds to an urgent need to ensure the proper provision of the Local Police service, given the difficulty in organizing shifts and covering the ordinary and extraordinary services of the municipality. The temporary incorporation of an officer will allow for the immediate reinforcement of personnel while measures are adopted for the definitive filling of the position, a relevant opportunity for officers from all over Andalusia who wish to serve in Cantillana.
