Por FactBox Admin

The Ministry of Health of the Government of Cantabria has arranged for the publication in the Official Gazette of Cantabria of the extension addendum to the agreement between the Cantabrian Health Service and the Amara Cantabria association for the development of a specific support program for underage cancer patients and their families within the scope of the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital. The resolution, signed by the general secretary María Souto Aller in Santander on August 31, 2026, appears in issue number 172 of the gazette, dated September 7, 2026, with the reference CVE-2026-6961.
The agreement extends the validity of the original convention for one year, which remains without interruption from September 3, 2026, until September 2, 2027. The extension is agreed upon before the end of the initial term, in accordance with the ninth clause of the agreement and the legal regime regulations of the public sector.
An agreement renewed for the first time
The original agreement was signed with the date of the last electronic signature on September 2, 2025, and was published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 181, dated September 22, 2025, by resolution of September 3, 2025 (CVE-2025-7503). Its ninth clause sets a duration of one year and allows for express extensions for equal periods of one year, up to a maximum of four additional years.
The addendum is formalized by virtue of the provisions of article 163.3 of the Cantabria Law 5/2018, of November 22, on the Legal Regime of the Government, the Administration, and the Institutional Public Sector, as well as article 49.h).2.º of Law 40/2015, of October 1, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector.
The signing parties
- César Pascual Fernández, Minister of Health, in the name and representation of the Cantabrian Health Service, authorized by agreement of the Governing Council on August 14, 2025.
- María Jesús Mata Herrero, president of the Amara Cantabria association, with address at Barrio La Puntanía 7B, 39120 Mortera, and CIF G-39839428.
Both parties favorably value the collaboration developed and consider it necessary to maintain for one more year the psychological support program aimed at underage cancer patients and their families. The addendum was electronically signed on August 27, 2026, by the Cantabrian Health Service and on August 28, 2026, by the association.
Conditions that remain
During the extended period, the object, commitments, conditions, and legal regime established in the original agreement remain fully in force, as they are not modified by this addendum. The extension thus guarantees the continuity of a psychological accompaniment service during one of the most delicate moments of pediatric oncological treatment.
Publication in the official bulletin provides legal certainty to the beneficiary families and certifies that the support program will remain operational at the Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla during the coming year, without interruption from the initial period.
