Cantabria corrects material errors in the decree on subsidies for youth hiring

The Government Council of Cantabria has approved the correction of material errors identified in the text of Decree 56/2026, of July 23, which regulates the direct granting of subsidies aimed at promoting youth hiring in small and medium-sized enterprises. The agreement was adopted in the ordinary session on October 1, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 195, of October 9, 2026, through the Resolution with reference CVE-2026-7928, from the Ministry of Industry, Employment, Innovation and Trade.

The original regulation was published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 145, of July 30, 2026, and establishes aid under a direct grant regime for Cantabrian SMEs to hire young people. The rectification is processed under Article 155 of Law 5/2018, of November 22, on the Legal Regime of the Government, the Administration and the Institutional Public Sector of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, and responds to a proposal from the General Directorate of Labor, Social Economy and Public Employment, submitted upon the proposal of the Minister of Industry, Employment, Innovation and Trade.

The two corrected errors

The agreement of the Government Council is limited to two material adjustments, without altering the substantive content of the regulation:

• Article 4, letter c): where the text referred to “its article 6.7” for the incentivized contractual modalities, it should now say “its article 6.8”.
• Article 16.2, third paragraph: it is specified that a partial reimbursement of 5% of the subsidy amount is applicable.

Both changes are published with the literal detail of what it “says” and what it “should say,” so that companies and interested parties can verify the exact scope of the rectification.

No changes to deadlines

The agreement is explicit on a point of special interest for companies and applicants: the correction made does not modify the deadlines provided for in Decree 56/2026. The Cantabrian Executive also orders the publication of the rectification in the Official Gazette of Cantabria and its notification to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Industry, Employment, Innovation and Trade, the General Directorate of Labor, Social Economy and Public Employment, and the General Comptroller.

Processing and signature

The agreement was adopted in the Government Council meeting corresponding to the year 2026, on October 1, in an ordinary session. The resolution ordering its publication is dated Santander, October 6, 2026, and is signed by the general secretary, Teresa Gómez Vázquez. The document is included in section 6, “Subsidies and aid,” and occupies pages 51877 and 51878 of the gazette.

The rectification arrives with the decree already in effect and affects two sensitive elements for those applying for the aid: the regulatory reference that determines which contracts can be incentivized and the reimbursement percentage in case of non-compliance. As the deadlines remain intact, SMEs and young job seekers retain the planned schedule, but now have a corrected text that has been officially published.
