Por FactBox Admin

The Ministry of Presidency, Justice, Security, and Administrative Simplification of the Government of Cantabria has announced a selection process for entry via open competition, through the opposition system, into the Higher Body of Finance Inspectors (Subgroup A1). The call is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 172, dated September 7, 2026, by means of Order PRE/120/2026, dated August 28, with reference CVE-2026-6902.
The process is being handled as a matter of urgency, with the aim of contributing to the reduction of temporary public employment to below 8% and streamlining personnel selection. The call is supported by article 13.2.c) of the Cantabria Law 4/1993, of March 10, on Public Service, and the common bases of Order PRE/19/2010, of July 2.
Positions and Requirements
Six (6) positions are offered in the Higher Body of Finance Inspectors, of which:
- Four (4) correspond to the Public Employment Offer for the year 2025.
- Two (2) correspond to the Public Employment Offer for the year 2026.
Applicants must hold or be in a position to obtain a degree as a Graduate, Engineer, Architect, or Bachelor’s degree holder, and maintain these requirements until taking office as a career civil servant. Adaptation measures are provided for persons with a disability of 33% or higher.
Applications and Fee
Applications shall be submitted electronically through the OPEC@N application, within a period of twenty (20) calendar days from the day following the publication of the call. The registration fee amounts to 31.62 euros, with exemptions for unemployed persons, persons with disabilities, victims of terrorism or gender-based violence, and members of large or single-parent families.
Selection Process
The opposition consists of three exercises, all of which are mandatory and eliminatory, in accordance with the program of Order PRE/76/2024, of August 29:
- First exercise: a questionnaire of 20 questions on Blocks I and III, scored from 0 to 20 points (minimum 10), with a maximum of four hours.
- Second exercise: written resolution of 10 theoretical-practical cases from Blocks II and IV, scored from 0 to 40 points (minimum 20), in a maximum of five hours.
- Third exercise: oral presentation in a public session of two topics from Block IV, scored from 0 to 40 points (minimum 20), with a digital recording of the intervention.
The first eliminatory exercise will take place starting November 1, 2026. The Qualifying Board will be composed of a president, five members, and a secretary, tending toward gender parity, and will be governed by the principle of celerity. The order, signed by the Director General of Public Service, Isabel Barragán Bohigas, by delegation of the counselor, enters into force the day following its publication.
This call represents a significant opportunity for qualified public employment in Cantabria, as it reinforces the body responsible for the inspection and control of regional finances. The urgent processing and the subsequent creation of an employment pool for interim appointments expand the scope of the offer beyond the initial six positions.
