Cantabria announces the 2025-2026 extraordinary Dance awards

The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Universities of Cantabria has announced the extraordinary awards for professional Dance studies for the 2025-2026 academic year, with a grant of 500 gross euros per award. The call is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 170, dated September 3, 2026, through the summary of Order EDU/41/2026, dated August 18, signed by the minister Sergio Silva Fernández.

The objective is to recognize the merits of students who have completed these studies with excellent academic performance and to allow their participation in the national competition phase should they be winners of one of the awards. The call is processed under a competitive bidding regime and is identified in the National Grants Database with the number 925499.

Regulatory Framework and Governing Rules

The call is governed by the regulatory bases established in Order EDU/7/2025, which regulates the granting, under a competitive bidding regime, of extraordinary awards for professional studies in Music, Dance, and Plastic Arts and Design in Cantabria, published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 50, dated March 13, 2025. The summary is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Grants Law.

The receipt of this grant is compatible with any other aid for the same purpose, coming from public or private bodies, the European Union or international organizations, in accordance with Cantabria Law 10/2006, of July 17.

Requirements for Beneficiaries

Those who have completed professional Dance studies in the 2025-2026 course at an educational center in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria and who prove excellent academic performance may apply for the award:

• Having obtained an average grade equal to or higher than 8.75 points in the last two courses of professional Dance studies.
• The average grade will be the arithmetic mean of the grades of all subjects taken in the last two courses, rounded to the nearest hundredth and, in case of equidistance, to the higher one.
• Validated subjects will not be taken into account; if the student accessed the sixth course directly, the average grade will refer only to the subjects of said course.
• Persons subject to the prohibitions set forth in article 12 of Cantabria Law 10/2006 may not be beneficiaries.

Amount and Submission Deadline

The total amount of the prizes for this call for applications amounts to 500.00 euros, funded from the budget allocation 09.05.324A.482.23 of the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria for 2026. The individual financial endowment for each prize will be 500.00 euros gross.

The deadline for submitting applications will be fifteen business days, counted from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of Cantabria. Applicants must complete the registration application found in Annex I of the call order, accompanied by the documentation indicated in Article 3.6 when opposing the inquiries indicated in Articles 3.4 and 3.5.

The call represents a recognition of the effort and excellence of students in professional Dance education in Cantabria, and opens the door for the winners to the national phase of the competition, a relevant stimulus for the region’s artistic training.
