Cantabria concede 779.202 euros en ayudas al alquiler a 2.468 inquilinos

The Regional Ministry of Development, Housing, Territorial Planning and Environment of the Government of Cantabria has granted personal subsidies to tenants for the payment of housing rents under the 2022-2025 Plan corresponding to the monthly payment of August 2026, with 2,468 beneficiaries and a global amount of 779,202.12 euros. The resolution was signed by the regional minister Roberto Media Sainz in Santander on October 14, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 203, dated October 22, 2026, with the official reference CVE-2026-8185. The text appears in section 6, Subsidies and Grants, starting on page 54271.

The framework for the aid is Royal Decree 42/2022, of January 18, which regulates the Youth Rental Bonus and the State Plan for Access to Housing 2022-2025, and Decree 1/2025, of January 9, which adapts these programs to the scope of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria and establishes requirements, conditions, and the granting procedure. The competence to issue the resolution for the granting and payment of monthly aid corresponds to the regional minister by virtue of article 26 of Decree 1/2025 and article 9.1 of Law 10/2006, of July 17, on Subsidies of Cantabria.

The General Directorate of Housing and Architecture submitted the proposal for granting and payment on October 9, 2026, for the same global amount of 779,202.12 euros and for the same 2,468 beneficiaries. The resolution is issued in view of that proposal, the report from the Housing Plan Management Service, and the favorable report from the Comptroller’s Office.

779,202 euros charged to application 04.07.261A.481

The resolution contains four agreements: to grant the subsidies listed in the annex, to authorize and allocate the expenditure, to order the payment, and to determine the publication of the act. The main points are:

  • Granting of aid to the beneficiaries listed in the annex, for a total of 779,202.12 euros.
  • Expenditure financed through budget application 04.07.261A.481 of the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria for 2026.
  • Payment through the General Directorate of Treasury, Budgets and Financial Policy, in accordance with rule 18 of the Provisional Instruction for the Financial Administration of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, approved by resolution on December 29, 2000.

The distribution averages approximately 316 euros per beneficiary for the month of August. The annex, which spans more than 140 pages of the bulletin, details for each aid the file number, the protected NIF (Tax ID), the name of the holder, the monthly amount, the application date, the number of recognized months (60 in most cases), and the date of the qualification resolution. Individual amounts on the list range from 122.50 euros for file 2025/ALCAL/011454 to 325 euros for file 2026/ALCAL/014906.

A census of beneficiaries growing month by month

The series published by the bulletin shows a sustained increase in the number of tenants served. The June 2026 monthly payment was resolved with 2,317 beneficiaries and July with 2,407, while August reaches 2,468. The jump compared to July is 61 more beneficiaries and an additional 21,617.34 euros, as the July resolution, published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria on September 10, 2026, with reference CVE-2026-7071, granted 757,584.78 euros.

Publication replacing notification and appeal process

In accordance with article 26.5 of Decree 1/2025, the resolution is published pursuant to article 45.3 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, and complementarily on the notice board of the website of the general directorate competent in housing matters. Both publications replace personal notification.

Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, the following are applicable:

  • Appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) before the Councilor for Development, Housing, Territorial Planning and Environment within one month from the day following the notification.
  • Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Cantabria within two months.

Other resolutions from the same day

The same day’s bulletin includes the remaining monthly rental programs of the 2022-2025 Plan:

  • CVE-2026-8187: 95 beneficiaries of the program to contribute to the demographic challenge in small municipalities or population centers, for 33,013.13 euros.
  • CVE-2026-8189: 191 beneficiaries of aid for victims of gender-based violence, persons subject to eviction from their primary residence, homeless persons, and other especially vulnerable persons, for 107,074.86 euros.
  • CVE-2026-8191: 97 beneficiaries of the same protection program, processed under Decree 28/2020, of May 2, for 26,971.15 euros.

Together, the four granting resolutions total 2,851 beneficiaries and 946,261.26 euros for the month of August. The bulletin also publishes four resolutions denying applications for that same month: CVE-2026-8186 (housing rental assistance), CVE-2026-8188 (young people and demographic challenge), CVE-2026-8190 and CVE-2026-8192 (protection program, the latter under Decree 28/2020).

The impact of the measure is direct on the current expenditure of tenant families in Cantabria: the aid is paid monthly and covers part of the lease rent, so the August resolution ensures payment to 2,468 households and confirms an upward trend in the number of recipients within the final stage of the 2022-2025 State Plan.
