Por FactBox Admin

The Official Gazette of Cantabria publishes this Thursday, October 22, 2026, the resolution by which the Ministry of Rural Development, Livestock, Fisheries and Food grants de minimis aid for the support of the rearing of purebred bovine, equine, and ovine animals in Cantabria corresponding to the year 2026. The total amount granted amounts to 2,285,900 euros (two million two hundred eighty-five thousand nine hundred euros) and reaches 1,530 beneficiaries. The resolution, signed in Santander on October 9, 2026, by the minister María Jesús Susinos Tarrero, is published with the official reference CVE-2026-8214.
Regulatory framework and processing
The call is governed by Decree 39/2026, of June 4, which regulates the granting of these de minimis aids in Cantabria and was published in BOC number 111, of June 11, 2026. The file was processed with the justifying report, the report from the head of the Promotion Section and the head of the Animal Production Service, the proposal from the General Directorate of Livestock —including its correction of errors— and the certificates of compliance with requirements provided by the applicants.
The legal framework is completed by Law 10/2006, of July 17, on Subsidies of Cantabria, Law 14/2006, of October 24, on Finances of Cantabria, and the mandatory fiscal report. The resolution exhausts the administrative route.
Figures and distribution of aid
The annex of beneficiaries, which extends across 26 pages of the gazette, lists the relationship alphabetically: it begins with María Jesús Sánchez Herrero and ends with Vivian María Alonzo Moir. Individual amounts range from 200 euros up to a maximum of 4,200 euros, depending on the number of animals registered in the Genealogical Book in 2024 and considered eligible.
- Bovines: 200 euros per animal in the first bracket and 100 euros in the second.
- Equines: 300 euros per registered animal.
- Ovines: 100 euros per registered animal.
- Limit: a maximum of 30 eligible animals per species group.
- Examples: SAT El Cruce receives 4,000 euros for 68 bovines; Juan Manuel González Vega, 4,200 euros; María del Carmen García Colina, 800 euros for eight ovines.
Twenty-three denied applications
The resolution also includes the express denial of 23 applications, indicating the cause. Most fail to comply with article 3.4 of the regulating decree; others fall under sections 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 of the same article. Among the affected entities are Serca, Fincas Experimentación y Selección Animal, the CIFP “La Granja”, Hnos Gómez Gutiérrez S. C., Lainz Sánchez S. C., and Ganadería Morante Fernández S. C., along with individual holders such as Santiago Ruiz Puente, Ana Isabel Ríos Barquín, Mercedes Ranero Barreras, or Gabriel Pino Abascal.
Expenditure, resources and scope
The resolution authorizes and allocates an expenditure of 2,285,900 euros charged to budget application 05.04.412B.471 of the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria for 2026. An appeal for reversal may be filed against it before the counselor within one month from the day following its notification, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the corresponding jurisdiction within two months.
The financial support arrives at a time of high costs for farms and is specifically directed at the rearing phase, the most sensitive stage for the renewal of purebred herds. The aid rewards registration in the Genealogical Book, thereby incentivizing genetic improvement and the traceability of the Cantabrian livestock census, with particular emphasis on the bovine sector and agricultural transformation societies, which concentrate the highest amounts in the annex.
