Cantabria increases subsidies for the 0.7% IRPF to 6.3 million
Por FactBox Admin

The Cantabrian Institute of Social Services (ICASS) has expanded the credit for the call for grants funded by the 0.7% IRPF tax allocation for 2026, the maximum amount of which increases from 5,762,000 to 6,306,738.51 euros. The expansion was approved by a resolution from the director of the organization on October 22, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria (Boletín Oficial de Cantabria) no. 210, dated November 2, 2026, with official reference CVE-2026-8501. The extract appears signed in Santander on October 23 by the counselor for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, Begoña Gómez del Río.
The original call was published on September 1, 2026, in BOC no. 168, with an initial allocation of 5,762,000 euros provided by the State for a specific purpose. Its framework consists of the regulatory bases approved by Order ISO/11/2026, of July 20 (BOC no. 143, of July 27, 2026), and the procedure is processed under a competitive bidding regime with identification BDNS 926649 in the National Grants Database. Section four of the call itself provided for an additional increase funded by the 0.7% IRPF collection, conditional upon the declaration of credit availability.
An expansion of 544,738.51 euros
The modification of the extract increases the maximum amount by 544,738.51 euros relative to the initial allocation. The increase is financed by the 0.7% IRPF collection and, as required by article 2 of the call, the new figure is published both in the National Grants Database and in the BOC through the modification of the extract.
The key figures of the call are as follows:
- Maximum amount after expansion: 6,306,738.51 euros.
- Initial allocation: 5,762,000 euros.
- Increase: 544,738.51 euros.
- Mandatory co-financing by the entity: 1% of the program cost.
- Maximum coverage per program: up to 100% of the requested amount.
Third Sector Entities and up to six programs
Beneficiaries may be Third Sector Social Action entities as defined in Law 43/2015, of October 9, as well as the Spanish Red Cross, provided that their institutional purposes align with the eligible activities. Each applicant entity may request grants for a maximum of six programs.
The eligible programs are those listed in the annex of the resolution and must be developed in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria between January 1 and December 31, 2027. The grant is awarded in proportion to the scores obtained and, if the maximum amount is exceeded, the evaluation committee applies a pro-rata distribution among the beneficiary entities. Applications are addressed to the director of ICASS and submitted through the General Electronic Registry of the Government of Cantabria.
Execution in 2027 and justification until 2028
Payment is made in advance and in a single installment, without the need to provide guarantees, under the fifth additional provision of Law 4/2026, of April 28, on the General Budgets of Cantabria for 2026. Entities must notify ICASS of the program’s start date and its schedule in the month following the final resolution, and submit a monitoring report at the end of the first semester of execution.
The justification ends on February 28, 2028, via the justificatory account modality with expenditure vouchers, and on March 31, 2028, if the audit report option is chosen. When the total cost of a program exceeds 100,000 euros, the justificatory account with an audit report is mandatory.
No reopening of the application period
The publication of the extension does not imply the opening of a new period for submitting applications nor does it restart the countdown of the period for resolution, as warned by the call itself. The ordinary application period was one month from the day following the publication of the initial summary in the BOC, that is, from September 2, 2026.
The credit increase arrives while the call is already being processed and benefits all the competing Cantabrian social entities by allowing more funds to be distributed among the highest-rated programs and reducing the pro-rata allocation. With 6.3 million euros, the 0.7% IRPF line is consolidated as one of the main financing channels for the third sector in Cantabria for the 2027 execution cycle.
