Cantabria awards seven Legal Aid destinations in Santander and Santoña

The Ministry of Presidency, Justice, Security and Administrative Simplification of the Government of Cantabria has awarded, through Order PRE/115/2026 of July 31, the assignments to the community’s judicial offices for the civil service personnel of the Judicial Assistance Corps (open entry) who passed the selective entry examinations. The resolution, with reference CVE-2026-6331, is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 162, of August 24, 2026, in the section for appointments, cessations, and other situations.

The original call for applications is Order JUS/1327/2022 of December 28, published in the Official State Gazette of December 30. The award is carried out in accordance with articles 28 and 29 of Royal Decree 1451/2005 of December 7, which regulates the entry, provision of job positions, and professional promotion of civil service personnel serving the Administration of Justice.

Awarded Assignments

Annex I of the order lists seven positions distributed between the common services of Santander and Santoña, all in the province of Cantabria:

• Íñigo Urizar Abaurrea — Santoña Common Processing Service.
• Alicia Alvaredo Álvarez — Santander General Common Service (contentious/commercial/social).
• María Carmen Donis García — Santander General Common Service (civil/family).
• Ana Bontempini Dueñas — Santander General Common Service (criminal).
• Marta Belén Martín García — Santander General Common Service (civil/family).
• Nuria Rodríguez Calvete — Santander General Common Service (civil/family).
• Maite Aldaravi Ballesteros — Santoña Common Processing Service.

Assumption of Office and Deadlines

The assigned individuals must assume office before the head of the judicial office within twenty business days starting from September 1, 2026, in accordance with article 29 of Royal Decree 1451/2005 and article 30 of Law 39/2015 of October 1. To this end, F1R documents, sent in quadruplicate by the Territorial Management or competent body, must be present in the judicial organs in advance.

Those who are already permanent members of the Procedural and Administrative Processing or Procedural and Administrative Management Corps and choose to remain active do not need to travel to assume office; it is sufficient to communicate their option for the declaration of voluntary leave provided for in article 506 d) of Organic Law 6/1985 of July 1, of the Judiciary. Those entering Judicial Assistance may request paid leave of one or two days (up to three from the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Ceuta, or Melilla) to assume office without interrupting their pay.

Effects on the Staff

Interim civil servants occupying the awarded positions shall cease their duties on the same day that the permanent holder takes office. New civil servants, assigned on a compulsory basis by order of qualification, may not participate in a transfer competition until two years have elapsed from the date of the order. The positions offered by Order PRE/56/2026, of May 27, which are not awarded, shall remain vacant and may be announced as vacancies in an ordinary competition.

The order, signed by Counselor María Isabel Urrutia de los Mozos, may be appealed via contentious-administrative proceedings before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Santander within two months, or optionally through a request for reconsideration within one month. The filling of these positions consolidates the staff of the Administration of Justice in Cantabria and directly affects the interim staff who cease their duties, a significant movement for the functioning of the community’s courts.
