Cantabria opens the call for grants for the training of employed women

The Ministry of Industry, Employment, Innovation and Trade of the Government of Cantabria has approved the 2026 call for grants aimed at the development of training programs within the training offer initiative of the Cantabrian Employment Service for employed persons seeking employment services. The order is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 178, dated September 16, 2026, with the reference CVE-2026-7165.

The regulation, Order IND/44/2026, of September 8, sets a maximum amount of 3,055,000.00 euros, with a multi-annual nature for the 2026, 2027, and 2028 fiscal years, financed through the multi-annual credit file 2026/SCE/12 (2026/267). The awarding procedure is processed under a competitive bidding regime, and justification is carried out by economic modules.

Programs and priority groups

The call subsidizes transversal and sectoral training programs, with special attention to vulnerable groups, who have preference in accessing the training actions:

• Women victims of gender-based violence.
• People with disabilities.
• People in a situation of contract suspension or reduction of working hours due to a temporary employment regulation file (ERTE).
• People over 45 years of age.
• Young people under 30 years of age.
• People with low professional qualifications.

Employed workers have priority over the unemployed, who may participate up to a limit of 30 percent of the programmed students. Public employees may access transversal programs with a cap of 10 percent of the participants.

Distribution of funds

The amount is distributed among the different types of training programs:

• Transversal training programs: €570,706.00.
• Transversal programs for digital skills and technological transformation: €862,336.00.
• Programs aimed at workers and members of the social economy: €88,655.00.
• Programs aimed at self-employed workers: €336,413.00.
• Training programs for tutors in workplaces: €75,000.00.
• Sectoral training programs: €979,266.00, with a breakdown by sectors such as Metal (€254,234), Trade (€188,320), Hospitality (€188,320), Construction (€141,240), Agricultural, forestry and livestock (€47,080), Road transport (€47,080), Culture, Offices and agencies, Private education and Private security (€28,248 each).

Deadline and submission of applications

Interested training entities must submit their applications within ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the call summary in the Official Gazette of Cantabria. The summary, with reference CVE-2026-7168 and identification number in the National Grants Database 928078, outlines the requirements for beneficiaries, who must be registered in the competent registry and prove they have the infrastructure to provide training within the territory of Cantabria.

Payments are structured in three annual installments: an advance of 25 percent in 2026, 35 percent in 2027 after certifying the start of the program, and up to the remaining 40 percent in 2028 upon completion and justification of the training actions. Beneficiary entities are subject to the transparency and active publicity obligations provided for in regional regulations.

The call is part of the Annual Plan for the Promotion of Decent Employment, within its Axis 2 on Training, and addresses the priorities indicated by the sectoral joint structures. For training entities and the thousands of employed workers in Cantabria, this order represents an opportunity to improve professional skills and qualifications, with a specific reinforcement of digital training and the region’s strategic productive sectors.
