Cangas convoca por mobilidade unha praza de Inspector Principal da Policía Local

The Cangas City Council announces the provision by mobility of a position for Chief Inspector of the Local Police, subgroup A2, corresponding to the public employment offer (OEP) of 2025. The call and the rules were approved by agreement of the Local Government Board on August 3, 2026, and are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) no. 199, of October 15, 2026, with the official reference 2026072924. The resolution bears the signature of the mayor, Araceli Gestido Rodríguez.

Regulatory framework and characteristics of the position

The call is based on the provisions of articles 39.c) and 43 of Law 4/2007, of April 20, on the coordination of local police, and is carried out through a competition procedure. The position belongs to the Special Administration scale, special services subscale, executive scale, and is linked to the OEP of the year 2025, published in the BOP no. 108 of June 9, 2025.

The objective is to fill a single post (1 position) of Chief Inspector as a career official of the Cangas City Council. The call and the rules will be published in the BOP, with an announcement in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) and in the Official State Gazette (BOE), while the notice board of the municipal electronic office will be the means of publicity for all notifications of the process.

Requirements for applicants

  • To be in active service in the category of Chief Inspector in any of the local police forces of Galicia.
  • To have a minimum seniority of three (3) years in the category.
  • To have more than three (3) years of effective and continuous time in the current destination.
  • Not to be in a situation of second activity, except in cases of second activity due to pregnancy or lactation.
  • To possess the academic qualification required for the category, subgroup A2, or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Whoever obtains a permanent position through mobility must remain in it for a minimum of three years before competing again.

Applications, deadline and fee

Applications shall be submitted using the attached official form, preferably electronically through the electronic office of the Cangas City Council. The deadline is 20 business days counting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the last of the official gazettes in which it is published.

The required documentation includes:

  • Photocopy of the DNI or NIE.
  • Annex I (application form).
  • Copy of the documentation accrediting the qualification.
  • Proof of payment of the fee.
  • List of merits with supporting documentation.
  • Certificate accrediting compliance with the requirements.

The examination fees amount to 17.04 euros, according to the municipal tax ordinance, and non-payment within the deadline determines exclusion without the possibility of amendment.

Tribunal, scale and award

The Selection Tribunal, composed of five permanent members and five substitutes, will be appointed by the Mayor’s Office-Presidency in accordance with Article 34 of Law 4/2007. Its constitutive session must be held within a maximum period of 15 business days from the publication of the appointment.

The process consists of a non-eliminatory merit competition, valued according to the scale in Annex III, which includes academic qualifications, seniority, training and teaching, distinctions and awards, languages, and the Galician language. The provisional scoring will be published on the electronic headquarters, with five (5) business days for claims. In the event of a tie, the priority criteria applied will be preference for women, greater seniority, training score, the highest level of qualification, and, finally, a draw.

The selected persons shall cease their current duties within five days from the publication of the competition resolution and shall take office within ten days following the cessation. The tribunal will also prepare a reserve list in accordance with Article 19 of Decree 15/2023, of January 12.

Relevance

The call opens the possibility for local police officers from all over Galicia to promote to the executive scale in a body of Morrazo, with a position that reinforces the command of the Local Police of Cangas. The rules put an end to the administrative route: an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the Mayor’s Office within one month, or a direct challenge may be filed before the contentious-administrative courts within two months.
