Canary Islands resolve the final distribution of seven million among social entities
Por FactBox Admin

The General Directorate of Social Services and Immigration of the Government of the Canary Islands has definitively resolved the distribution of 7,000,000 euros among social entities to finance immigration and social inclusion projects during 2026. The resolution, signed on October 27 by the general director Elisabet Santana Rosales, is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (Boletín Oficial de Canarias) no. 222, of November 6, 2026 (document number 3830, page 40005). The distribution fully exhausts the call’s credit and establishes the financing map for the third sector in the islands for the current fiscal year.
The call derives from Order no. 650/2026, of June 18, of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Childhood and Families (BOC no. 131, of July 1, 2026), which approved the bases under a competitive bidding process. The procedure began with a provisional resolution on September 28 (no. 24665/2026) and a correction of errors on October 6 (no. 25480/2026) that excluded a file from the Puntagorda City Council and transferred 67,173.04 euros from one line to another.
The file is processed in accordance with Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and Decree 36/2009, of March 31, charged to budget applications 2307 231B 48002 LA 234G0119 and 2307 231I 48002 LA 23439202 of the 2026 regional budget.
How the distribution by area stands
Of the seven million, only 1,250,000 euros correspond to the Immigration area; the remainder, 5,750,000 euros, is destined for Social Inclusion, divided into three lines:
- Immigration: 1,250,000.00 euros.
- Line 2.1, intervention programs for social inclusion and care for people in situations of exclusion: 4,317,173.04 euros.
- Line 2.2, comprehensive social inclusion plans for community intervention: 232,826.96 euros.
- Line 2.3, comprehensive intervention with homeless people: 1,200,000.00 euros, granted in full.
The credit for Line 2.2 was not exhausted, so the surplus of 67,173.04 euros was incorporated into Line 2.1, which had accumulated the most unattended applications.
Cáritas, Anchieta, AFAMCA and Red Cross, among the awardees
In the Immigration area, the grants range between the maximum of 60,000 euros per project and those partially granted. Some examples from Annex I:
- Cáritas Diocesana de Canarias, ARADO project (file IEIS2026010162): 60,000 euros.
- Cáritas Diocesana de Tenerife, PUENTE project (IEIS2026010173): 60,000 euros.
- Federación de Asociaciones de Mujeres Arena y Laurisilva, JUSOC program for migrant women (IEIS2026010184): 60,000 euros.
- Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid, advisory and information point (IEIS2026010061): 60,000 euros.
- Asociación de Reinserción Social de Menores Anchieta, Navegando entre Papeles project (IEIS2026010122): 50,785.86 euros.
- Asoc. AFAMCA - Tenerife (Asociación de la Familia Canaria), Sumando + project (IEIS2026010194): 60,000 euros; under Line 2.1 it receives 90,000 euros for Activa-T and under 2.3 another 90,000 for Impulsa.
- Spanish Red Cross, Migrant Women (IEIS2026010110): 60,000 euros.
- Fundación Canaria Farrah para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Sostenible, integration program for migrant persons in Gran Canaria (IEIS2026010226): 26,624.96 euros, partial grant due to exhaustion of credit.
In Social Inclusion, Doctors of the World (89,980 euros for Inclar para Sanar III), Fundación Don Bosco Salesianos Social (88,770 euros), Asociación Banco de Alimentos de Tenerife Bancoteide (89,750 euros), and Psychologists Without Borders Spain (56,009.13 euros) also stand out.
47 appeals and reserve lists
The Evaluation Commission examined 47 appeals in a remote session concluded on October 27: two upheld, nine partially upheld, and 36 dismissed. The upholding of the appeal by the Asociación Rehoyando (IEIS2026010045) increased its grant from 59,150 to 60,000 euros, a difference of 850 euros that was deducted from the Fundación Canaria Farrah.
Applications that remained without funding due to lack of credit make up the reserve lists of Annex IV, ordered by score, and may be addressed in the event of withdrawals or non-compliance. Annex II lists the dismissed applications, including those of the City Council of Santa Lucía and the Fundación Alianza por los Derechos, la Igualdad y la Solidaridad Internacional.
Deadlines for acceptance, reformulation, and justification
Entities whose amount varies from the provisional resolution have ten business days from the day following publication to accept the grant or submit a reformulation; thirteen entities with partial grants must adjust their projects. Payment may be 100% advanced in a single payment or provided upon justification. Justification is submitted in the month following the end of the project, or in two months if an advance was given. Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, a motion for reconsideration may be filed within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.
The final allocation closes the public funding framework for the Canarian social third sector for 2026 and confirms which shelter, legal counseling, migrant women’s care, soup kitchen, and homeless care projects will have regional support during the fiscal year.
