The Directorate General for Diversity has published the final resolution of the call for grants for the implementation of planning and promotion projects for LGBTIQ+ diversity in the Canary Islands corresponding to the 2026 financial year. The administrative act, dated 6 August 2026 and signed by the Director General Celso David Mendoza Negrín, appears in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 164, of 17 August 2026, in Section III “Other Resolutions” of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families.

The call is framed within Order of 5 July 2023, published in BOC No. 142, which approved the regulatory bases of indefinite validity for this type of aid. The formal opening of the call for 2026 took place through Order No. 273/2026, of 19 March, whose extract was published in BOC No. 63, of 1 April 2026. The application period ended on 28 April 2026 at 23:59.

Result of the call: 31 applications processed and 12 grants awarded

Of the total 35 applications received through the electronic procedure No. 6580 of the single electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands, 4 were declared duplicates, leaving 31 valid applications processed. The Grant Assessment Committee, meeting on 26 June 2026, evaluated all admitted applications and issued its report with the scoring result for each entity.

The provisional resolution was published on 16 July 2026 in BOC No. 142, granting interested parties a period of five working days to expressly accept the grant or submit allegations. Of the 12 provisionally granted applications, 12 acceptances and 1 allegation were submitted, all duly considered for issuing the final resolution.

Rejected and excluded applications

Three entities were definitively rejected due to insufficient credit, having obtained scores of 71.9, 62 and 49.6 points respectively. Additionally, several applications were excluded from the procedure for reasons such as failure to submit through the established electronic channel, failure to prove formal requirements, failure to obtain the minimum score of 38 points in the assessment, or submission of duplicate applications.

The resolution provides for the advance payment of 100% of the grant amount to the entities in Annex I-A, requesting the Ministry of Finance and Relations with the European Union to make the corresponding payments. The execution period for the projects generally runs from 1 January to 31 October 2026, although, exceptionally, projects with advance payment may be extended until 28 February 2027.
