Canarias destina 10,17 millones a subvenciones empresariales gestionadas por las Cámaras

The Government of the Canary Islands and the four Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of the archipelago will jointly manage Line 3 of the grant program for business investment projects, endowed with 10,171,000 euros for the 2026, 2027, and 2028 fiscal years and 85% co-financed by the European Union within the ERDF Canary Islands Program 2021-2027. The cooperation agreement was signed on September 17, 2026, and the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands publishes it this Wednesday, September 30, in issue number 196, starting on page 35696.

The publication is ordered by the Resolution of September 17, 2026, from the Technical General Secretariat of the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed, signed by Marcos Barrera González. The text is based on article 29.2 of Law 12/2014 on transparency and access to public information, and on Decree 11/2019, which requires agreements to be published in the BOC within twenty days following their signature.

Line 3 is part of the Program for the improvement of competitiveness, sustainability, creation, and business growth in the Canary Islands, included in the Strategic Grant Plan 2024-2026 approved by Order No. 15/2024. Management corresponds to the General Directorate for Economic Promotion and Diversification, which, according to the agreement itself, does not have sufficient personal and material resources to handle a mass call, hence the collaboration of the Chambers as collaborating entities under article 16 of Law 38/2003, General Law on Grants, and Decree 36/2009.

Who signs the agreement

  • Manuel Domínguez González, Minister of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed, representing the Government of the Canary Islands.
  • Santiago Sesé Alonso, president of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
  • Juan Jesús Rodríguez Marichal, president of the Chamber of Fuerteventura.
  • Luis Fernando Padrón López, president of the Chamber of Gran Canaria.
  • José Valle Martínez, president of the Chamber of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

The Chamber of Lanzarote and La Graciosa acts as the coordinator and sole interlocutor before the General Directorate, receives the economic compensation and distributes it among the others, and channels the funds destined for the beneficiaries.

Requirements, deadlines and money

  • Minimum investment of 300,000 euros in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, and 100,000 euros in the rest of the islands.
  • Granting on a competitive basis, with a priority order according to the regulatory bases.
  • Initial transfer of 5,000,000 euros to the Chamber of Lanzarote and La Graciosa after the signing of the agreement.
  • Payment to each beneficiary within ten days from the publication of the payment resolution.
  • Valid until December 31, 2028, extendable.

Control, monitoring, and compensation

A joint Monitoring Commission, with three representatives from the General Directorate and three from the Chambers, will meet at least every quarter. The General Directorate will carry out quality controls on a sample representing at least 10% of the granted amount.

For their work, the Chambers will receive a maximum compensation of 48,648.80 euros excluding IGIC (52,054.22 euros including tax), charged to the budget allocation 15.14.433C.227.09.00: half after the signing and the other half after the granting resolution. The agreement estimates 1,691 hours of work, 1,360.40 for processing and 330.60 for coordination.

The call reaches Canarian companies with the stated objective of shortening the distance between the application and the receipt of the aid, taking advantage of the insular network of Chamber offices. These are European funds that must be executed before the 2021-2027 ERDF period closes, so the pace of processing will be decisive in order not to lose community funding.
