Canarias convoca cinco millones en ayudas para escolarización temprana del curso 2026/2027

The Department of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands has announced non-competitive grants for the 2026/2027 academic year aimed at promoting early schooling, with a budget of 5,000,000 euros. The extract of the Order of September 11, 2026 is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands no. 199, dated October 5, 2026, section V. Announcements, under number 3433 and identification BDNS 929075. Applications may be submitted within 10 business days starting from the day following said publication.

The grants are framed within the regulatory bases approved by Departmental Order no. 519, of July 22, 2024, of indefinite validity, as amended by Order no. 1378, of November 19, 2025, which structure the aid program known as the “Child Voucher” (Bono infantil). The objective is to co-finance educational and dining services for students aged 0 to 3, so that families have the cost of schooling fully or partially financed.

The department’s Strategic Grant Plan for the 2024-2026 period, updated by an order published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands no. 161, dated August 12, 2026, estimated the annual cost of this line at 6,000,000 euros, charged to the budget application 18.21.322B.48002/45004-184G0408 “Promotion of early schooling.”

Amount and distribution by annual periods

The call mobilizes 5,000,000 euros, distributed over two annual periods:

  • 3,500,000 euros for the academic period between September 2026 and March 2027.
  • 1,500,000 euros for the academic period between April and June 2027.

Beneficiaries and deadlines

The recipients are students aged 0 to 3 enrolled in municipal schools and private centers within the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.

  • Application submission period: 10 business days from the day following the publication of the extract in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, regardless of its publication in the National Grants Database.
  • Failure to meet the deadline results in exclusion from the call.
  • Resolution and notification period: six months starting from the day following the end of the application period.

Delegation of powers and collaborating entities

The order delegates to the head of the General Directorate of Center Administration, Schooling and Complementary Services the competence to grant the subsidies, including the modification of the call amount, the resolution declaring the subsidy justified or not, and the initiation and resolution of the reimbursement procedure.

Municipal schools and private centers act as collaborating entities. In the same issue of the bulletin, the cooperation agreement signed on September 21, 2026, with Vingmocan de Inversiones, S.L., concessionaire of the public Early Childhood Education service El Sauzal until August 31, 2028, for the center EEI El Sauzal (code 38015552, 39 authorized places), is published via Resolution of September 24, 2026 (no. 3428). The agreement is valid for two years, extendable up to a maximum of six. In the preceding weeks, similar agreements were published with CPEI Indalín, CPEI Mafalda, CPEI Esther, CPEIPS Norte, Your Team, S.L., and the Fundación Municipal de Escuelas Infantiles de Santa Lucía, S.A.

With this call, the Government of the Canary Islands maintains one of the lines with the greatest direct impact on the family economies of the archipelago: the total or partial financing of tuition and dining services for children under three years of age. The signature of counselor Hipólito Alejandro Suárez Nuez closes the process, and the ten-business-day period makes the publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands the decisive temporal reference for families and centers wishing to join the program.
