Por FactBox Admin

The Regional Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Childhood and Families of the Government of the Canary Islands has announced grants totaling 8,886,669.00 euros destined for projects of general interest to serve social interest purposes, funded by the tax allocation of Personal Income Tax and Corporate Tax. The call is made through the Order of October 21, 2026, the summary of which is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (Boletín Oficial de Canarias) no. 220, of November 4, 2026, in section V (Other announcements), under announcement number 3787 and with the identifier BDNS 937354. Applications may be submitted within fifteen business days starting from the day following said publication.
The call is processed in advance, corresponds to the 2026 fiscal year, and is scheduled for execution and granting in 2027. It is governed by the regulatory bases approved by Departmental Order no. 1047/2024, of October 28 (BOC no. 225, of November 12, 2024), which were modified by the Order of September 8, 2026 (BOC no. 190, of September 22, 2026). The summary is published in application of articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text of the call is available in the National Grants Database.
The source of the funds is the 0.7% tax allocation of Personal Income Tax (IRPF) and Corporate Tax, a mechanism that the Ministry itself describes as “a measure consolidated over time and rooted in Spanish society” and as “an instrument of social cohesion” within the framework of the annual income tax return.

- disability

- sexual orientation
All of this within the jurisdictional scope of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.
Eight million and fifteen business days
The approved amount totals 8,886,669.00 euros in a competitive bidding procedure. The submission period is fifteen (15) business days from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, in accordance with the fourteenth base of Order no. 1047/2024.
Processing is exclusively electronic, through the electronic office of the Government of the Canary Islands, in the management application created for this purpose and in the procedure identified with number 11027. Interested entities must gather the documentation required by the guidelines and adhere to the requirements of each project.
Guidelines revised in September
The Order of September 8, 2026 introduced substantial changes to the guidelines that are now applied. Among them, the expansion to 16 subsidy lines, with the incorporation of the lines for “Community care and social inclusion in mental health” and “Social research and innovation.” The maximum number of applications per entity was also increased to nine.
The modification also established specific economic limits: remuneration for management or coordination personnel may not exceed 20% of the amount requested for personnel expenses, and management and maintenance expenses are capped at 20% of the total amount requested. In the social research and innovation line, a limit of 30% is established for subcontracting. The Ministry justified these changes based on the need to reinforce legal certainty, reduce administrative discretion, and improve the control of public spending.
The order was signed in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on October 21, 2026, by the counselor María Candelaria Delgado Toledo.
Calendar and effects
The call arrives with a tight calendar: as it was published on November 4 and the deadline is counted in business days, Third Sector entities in the Canary Islands have about three weeks to prepare and register their projects electronically. The distribution benefits organizations that sustain care for poverty and exclusion in the islands and links the 2027 funding to the funds that citizens and companies decide to allocate to social purposes in their tax returns.
